This payout will probably double when Oklahoma and Texas join the league in 2024.

Wonder what we'll do with our $45 million
Ray has the athletic department with debt issues to satisfy. Trust me all the upgrades at Williams Brice did not come cheap and of course the salaries for our football coaches, of course this money will also help pay for the olympic sports that do not generate revenue such as swimming, softball, equestrian. That is why it is so important for the football games to sellout every home game to help pay for all the non revenue producing sports.

And this, ladies & gentlemen (& @Viennacock & @TN-Gamecock), is why we can NEVER allow Tillman to join the SEC.
I think Tillman U and The Hillrunner U will never be invited to the SEC. First of all they would not have the votes. When Oklahoma and Texas join the league it will be 16 team league and would require 12 votes to be admitted. Talking with friends USC, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky are 5 schools who would not vote for TU, Hillrunnr U to be admitted. Probably Alabama, Ole Miss, Miss St, Auburn would not vote for them either.

Four-plus million less per school than last year - disturbing.

We should push for an agreement to ban Tillman from future invitations like A&M did to Texas. Oh wait.

Clemson to the SEC doesn't worry me all that much. Whatever financial gain they would get would be more than offset, I believe, by having to play the rugged SEC schedule.

No, the agreement is back-loaded and will surpass 70 million per school by the end of its duration.

I agree. I get whiplash sometimes with the debate going from "we need to keep them out" to "we need to get them in a real conference" because they have such an easy path to the playoffs.

The worst case scenario, imo, is if the SEC blocks them, and they join the B10. Then they have money and still an easier path to the playoffs.

I also think if A&M was helpless to keep Texas out, there would be little we can do keep Clemson out if that prospect ever arose.
