As we move into the last weekend, one of the things we are playing for is seeding in Hoover along with Bama, Florida, Ole Miss, Kentucky, Oklahoma, and Tennessee. (Of course it's not the most important thing, but the competitor in me still wants us to finish as high as we can in the SEC.)
Let's say we sweep Missouri to go to 15-15. Big if after this past weekend for them, but let's start with that premise.
Bama 15-12 at Florida 13-14
We have the tiebreaker over Bama, but not over UF
If Bama sweeps or goes 2-1, we jump Florida
If Florida sweeps we are tied with Bama and win the tiebreaker
If Florida wins series 2-1, we don't pass Bama, end up tied with Florida and they have the tiebreaker - so worst case is this one.
Auburn at Ole Miss 14-13
Tiebreaker over Ole Miss
If Auburn sweeps, we jump Ole Miss
If Auburn wins 2-1, we tie with Ole Miss and have the tiebreaker
If Ole Miss wins the series, we cannot pass them
Kentucky 13-14 at Vandy
Tiebreaker over Kentucky
If Vandy wins the series, we jump Kentucky
If Kentucky sweeps, we cannot pass them
If Kentucky wins the series 2-1, we tie and have the tiebreaker
Texas at Oklahoma 13-14
OU has tiebreaker over us
If Texas wins the series, we jump Oklahoma
If OU wins the series 3-0 we cannot pass them
If OU wins the series 2-1, we tie and they have the tiebreaker
Tennessee 15-12 at Arkansas
The only thing that helps us here is an Arkansas sweep. No head to head tiebreaker to apply if we are tied with the Vols at 15-15 so it comes down to all of our common opponents. It's also likely there would be at least one other 15-15 team in there as well.
I guess our best case is to cheer this weekend for Auburn, Vandy, Texas, and Arkansas while hoping that the Bama-Florida series doesn't end up 2-1 Florida then let the tiebreakers fall where the may.
FYI the tiebreaker rules are:

FYI the tiebreaker rules are:
- 1. Two-Team Tie. The following procedure will be used in the following order until the tie is broken:
- A. Won-lost results of head-to-head competition between the two tied teams.
- B. Won-lost percentage of the two teams against all common opponents
- C. Won-lost percentage of the two teams versus the highest seed using common opponents only (and proceeding through the last seed, if necessary)
- D. Best cumulative winning percentage of all Conference opponents
- E. Coin flip by the Commissioner.
- 2. Three-Team Tie (or more). The following procedure will be used in the following order until the tie is broken: (Note: If the three tied teams have three different records against each other, they shall be seeded in best-percentage order.) Otherwise, once the tie has been reduced to two teams, the two-team tiebreaker procedure will be used.
- A. If all tied teams are common opponents: Total won-lost percentage of games played among the tied teams.
- B. Won-lost percentage of the tied teams against all common opponents
- C. Won-lost percentage of the tied teams versus the highest seed using common opponents only, and proceeding through the lowest seed, if necessary. In the event of multiple ties, they shall be broken from first to last (e.g. a tie for first place will be broken before a tie for fourth place).
- D. Best cumulative winning percentage of all Conference opponents.
- E. If three or more teams still are tied, the Commissioner will conduct a draw.
