I can just imagine the posts / replies I’m going to see after this…but the more I think about Sellers, the more I think we’ll look back at that game one day and laugh about how he was that bad. Too many people have watched this kid in HS and during last season. People say things about Sellers they don’t say about other players. I know people think the next QB is always going to be great, but I’m not talking about that. I can’t recall a QB that people around the program have been this excited for in a long time.

Now, I don’t think we have a good enough team for him to be great. I saw the game. He was terrible Saturday night. He didn’t do much right. I think he was afraid to pull the trigger and make a mistake, which he admitted afterwards. But after reflecting on it…I really think he bounces back big this week.

I’m not saying we win, because I don’t think we’re very good around him. But I think Sellers bounces back and plays well against Kentucky. I think he plays well enough to give us a chance. That’s my prediction.

We need it. If he plays that way again, I don't see how we beat UK, or many teams left on our schedule.

I don’t know. Our offensive line sucks and we’re going up against one of the top DL in college football, Deone Walker.

I'm betting the under that he even performs as well as anthony richardson did against kentucky...

As a kentucky fan y'all sound as delusional as we did under joker phillips

You all need to full on lean your energy into forcing beamer out. There's literally no sense in hoping for anything other than losing at this point

Agreed. If Sellers isn’t much better than he was on Saturday, we’re in trouble much more than just Saturday.

Man, that’s it!!! You’ve crossed the line now! Nothing makes me angrier than a Kentucky fan talking trash about Florida 2 years ago!

Are you real? Come on…who is this really?

I'm a believer. In spite of the results Saturday Night, you saw flashes that said, "oh yeah". Even the klutzy play where he ran over Juju showed an athleticism that you have not seen in a Carolina QB. Only two that I recall to be even close are Connor Shaw and A1. The ball jumps off of his hand like Rattler. He has to get the mental part down. Which is a lot, but to be expected of a freshman QB playing on this level. We have to trust the process, watch him take his lumps at least for a while to see if the mental catches up with the physical.

I agree with you. I think he will be fine, especially if the offensive line gets its act together.

Everyone around him just seems to think he has something not many possess. While I think he didn't want to make a mistake, I never felt like he was rattled. Especially when I went back and watched it again.

Honestly, if he’s anywhere as good as people have indicated…what happened Saturday might have been the best thing to happen to him. He’s got to come out ripping the football this week. It can’t get any worse. I think I’d rather see a turnover or 2 than to be passive again. We have to take some shots.

Now that’s a big IF and completely different story! I’m nowhere near as confident there. Which is why I think Sellers has to play extremely well for us to even have a chance. He’ll likely be running for his life. We have to move him around a bit and he’s got to get the ball out of his hands fast or we’re in for a long night.

No doubt. This has to be factored into Sellers performance. Like the UNC game last season for Rattler. He was pretty good in that game. Anyone who watched it realized that. He had no shot with our OL performance.

Hoping for the best from the OL.

Did we ever have a good OL when Steve and Lou were here? I don't remember. The last time I recall we had a good OL was in the "Black Magic" year of 1984, with Joe Morrison.

We ran the ball pretty well with Lattimore, Mike Davis, and Brandon Wilds. Have to credit the OL during those days. Probably the best we had in a long time for sure.

Our OL, or lack of, has probably been the #1 reason for our lack of success in the SEC. We’ve had skill guys. It’s just very hard to be consistent when you can’t create lanes or give time for play to develop.

We may have to wait longer than just this week. Both Lamar Jackson and Vince Young took a lot of lumps that first year. You saw flashes, but nothing like what came later. I want to win a few games this year, but I just want to see the program get through this year with Sellers' confidence intact.

Will Ashford see time if Sellers tanks? How long will it take? My opinion is Beamer will ride with Sellers.

And he should. I never thought he’d be great this year, but the dude will be pretty good before he is gone. I even have some of my friends that are Clemson fans that are hoping he leaves. They admitted he struggled and they enjoyed it, but said there are times where he throws really well. Once the game slows a bit, they believe he’ll be a force.

That seems to be the consensus. Game won’t slow down much heading into SEC play though.

Maybe if that long bomb had been caught and not negated by a penalty anyway, that would’ve changed the complexion of his confidence and the passing game.

The question is can we put together a good offensive scheme against Kentucky or do they also use a confusing defense like ODU? Let’s just hope their defense matches up well with our offense so they can do what they are used to because there are not any adjustments that are going to happen. These coaches are playing checkers while everyone else is playing chess.
