SF Giants going against the grain on pitcher development

All other major league teams are trying to limit pitcher’s activity in the minors in an attempt to save their arms. The Giants are actively trying to take the opposite approach. Their VP of player development compares it to training for a marathon. You don’t do that by not running a lot. The Giants want their pitchers to be able to throw more innings once they reach the major league, so they are trying to strengthen their arms by working them more in the minors.

I use the same philosophy with my wife about sex. More often sex means longer sex. I keep telling her that we both start at the same time, it’s not my fault that she can’t keep up!
