Always liked Elliott. He was put into an impossible situation, kept the team together and focused, and played more inspired ball than they did for HBC. Dabo likes to talk about being a few plays away from being undefeated...he's a few plays away from landing a major SEC HC job in my opinion.

UT - Adams fumbles around the UT 20 yd line with about a minute left in the game and we lose by three.
A&M - Lost by 7, Orth throws a pick 6 in the 3rd, and another INT on a potential game tying drive.
El Cid - Can't convert a 4th & 1 with 6 min left down by 1

Those three plays go our way and we're probably looking at a bowl game and better coach than Muschamp instead of a 3-9 disaster and Chump.

Like Elliott. He was a good guy and all that. Not SEC head coach material, though. And, no, not defending the Muschamp hire. But Muschamp being a flop does not mean we should have promoted Elliott to HC.

Elliott has done a great coaching job in a really tough situation. GSU's program is getting better as the years go on, but is still only in their 11th season. And he's got them competing in a really tough Sun Belt conference.

I have always been a S.E. fan and was hoping we would have given him a shot. Couldn't have been worse than Muschamp.

He certainly spoke the truth. A bit of a rant but very respectful.

Do you think that he would be one of those coaches that we would have an actual chance to hire in a few years?

Yeah. Not sure how it would have panned out with Shawn.
He is a local guy that brought some success. Funny. Even then, I thought his O LIne underperformed and then I watch this team and think he might have had an NFL line comparatively speaking. Hiring him or Will was not the best choice. McGhee nailed his hires. I love Tanner as a baseball coach but damn he has **** the bed with hires so far.
