If Barry were simply a name caller, that would be easy for the BOT to handle. What really concerns the powers that be is Barry's rigorous attention to the details, and his willingness to ask detailed questions that expose lies and false assumptions in the numbers. He's smart enough to properly interrogate people on the crap they present, and they can't have that.

I think he is going to surprise a lot of people in a positive way

Then again, I thought James Franklin was a great hire

He doesn't suffer fools and views most people as fools. Could make for some theater. OTOH, maybe he'll exercise restraint and disappoint the theatergoers.

Maybe I shouldn’t have bought 500 cases of popcorn.

I like Barry. He's like Bill O'Brien.....a perfectionist teapot just waiting to boil over..... both with good intentions.

The beautiful people attend the Privileged Executive Session. They don’t look like us.

I don’t think he has embarrassed himself on this board. The other board…that is a whole different matter.
He was justifiably criticized for the manner in which he communicated on the other board. Likewise, he deserves to be acknowledged for the manner in which he has conducted himself on this board. The vulgar name calling has been eliminated - good for him and I hope he makes things VERY uncomfortable for those on the BOT who wouldn’t know how to spell “fiscal responsibility” even if they had access to a dictionary.

They won’t get uncomfortable. They’ll let Barry speak as much as they are obligated to do, thank him, then turn to each other and do exactly what they were going to do anyway. But we had to do this anyway so we have a right to complain.

Thanks to BF for giving it a go.

Similar to the Town Hall portion of the BOT Meetings shortly after the Sandusky scandal. Karen Peetz would just dismiss the person and ignore any questions or concerns the public brought up. Like the BOT weren't even listening or cared.

I would say he couldn't embarrass himself more than you have on this board.

Careful now, or I'll drive by you going 35 mph and scare the bejeebers out of you, and make you soil your Depends.

Well, when he posts under a pseudonym promoting himself for election, as if he's a different person, that's pretty embarrassing. And then add on all the factual inaccuracies and the analytical failures ... he's done a good enough job embarrassing himself here without having to know what silliness occurred on the other board.

But, he must be pushing some myopic agenda that some of the Boardies' are championing (is he a JoeBot? a Sandusky denier? I'm asking legitimately, as I don't know), so he has his cult following here, reality be damned.

Neither

His main focus seems to be fiscal irresponsibility. So he may ask about why dorms are being built that will never break even, why EB is worth a million dollar consulting contract, and why rural PA needs a horrifically expensive art museum

And, as someone noted above, he will no doubt get stonewalled

Then his next move is where it might get interesting

Does the board have ways to remove members? We may get to see that in action concerning Barry

I'd like a few examples of what you consider factual and analytical inaccuracies and failures. I know I have yet to see anyone dispute the figures he willingly presents or his assessment of them, nor have I seen anyone provide any counter data. The rest of your post is just silly ad hominen garbage.

And I'd like for you to stop being a far-right-wing troll, but we don't always get what we'd like. Anyway, search for any time I've interacted with him, or commented on a post of his.

Hmm, sounds like you recognize you've got nothing but empty rants. I guess for someone like you that would be considered progress.
Why would telling you where to look equate to what you just claimed above? It wouldn’t, if you were being the least bit reasonable. I’d rather you see the source data than my subsequent recounting. Stop trolling.

Are any of those people ( o_O ) still on the board? It’s been ten years. Trustees who look like them aren’t the ones responsible for screwing Joe.

Only one trustee period is left from that time. "Mark Dambly was appointed to the Board of Trustees by Governor Ed Rendell effective October 2010." Don't think he had much to say then. He had no clout.

A guy who doesn't remember being in jail and who worked to expunge his criminal record. What an upstanding citizen!
Such a mess really, isn’t it? You’ve got that criminal placed on the board then you’ve got a guy voted on who publicly referred to a student at the school as a “retard”. Hard to complain about Barry being on their when Dambly is as well.
