He can't complain that UNC didn't give him a fair chance the second time around. 2.0 has been pretty average. If UNC was really serious about football they would have shown him the door a couple years ago. Maybe his contract would have made that difficult to do.

If he wants to coach.....right now.....the following are open (that I can think of)....

Temple
FAU
Tulsa

he could put in a couple more years and then retire when he wants to.....

I would imagine that if he retired he forfeited the bulk of his payout money. It perhaps was as they say a “Business Decision” by Mack. At 73 I doubt that a firing would be detrimental to his long term coaching prospects.
I see what you did there.

I was just talking to my coworker about this. Her son has been committed to UNC and Brown for 1 year now. He loved Brown and now a week out his future is up in the air. Tough spot.

Her son wouldn't happen to be a top 10 QB recruit by any chance?

i did not know the Charlotte job had opened up.
Biff went down last week. Not a good root for the Harbaugh coaching tree.

Brown did lose his QB1 in the first game of the season with a gruesome leg injury against Minnesota. Max Johnson is the son of Super Bowl winner Brad Johnson. He looked good in that game leading up to the injury, and has stated his intention to come back next year.

It won’t happen at unc since Brown is out, but when will we see a high-NIL. o_O player try to influence a school‘s decision on a coach (retain one or hire one)? ”I play for Coach ____ or I hit the portal.”

”College” Football 😞
