Just because its Monday morning and I'm grumpy
"Penn State — 750,000 (22,633 in California; 15,000 more in western states Arizona, Nevada, Oregon and Washington)"
What does Oregon and Washington have to do with anything? That would be like USC saying its good to play in PA or NJ because they have alumni in Florida.
"Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to University Park Airport (SEC) — 2,261 miles, 4 hours and 46 minutes"
What flight offers under 5 hours of flight time? Because you will have to make a connection, its closer to 7 hours not counting layovers.

Because that is another 15,000 alums who have a short trip to LA for a PSU regular season game.
It's only a connection for the general public. The football teams fly non-stop. (Assuming the other sports tie in other games on their east coast swing and don't necessarily fly direct to State College).

Nebraska already has a team so there’s a model there to follow
If you would have attended USC, you would have had a better chance of getting it.
