I keep telling my dog he needs to find a job!! He could do something like this, but just stays home and licks himself
I just told mine the same thing. She sighed, yawned, and walked upstairs to go back to bed. Oh well.

I rarely see them as pets, and the rare times I do they're on a leash. What are they like out in a field without a leash on? I assume they are blazingly fast. Are they as skittish as reported? I've always been intrigued by greyhounds, but they're a breed that I've never spent any time around.
Ours are only off leash outdoors when we're in an enclosed area, like a dog park. They are super fast, and do like to run, but mostly they are snoozehounds. Ours have never met couches, beds, or pillows that they didn't like. I think they are fantastic pets, and much lower maintenance than people tend to think. The biggest problem is that many are not cat (or other small animal) safe. Before adoption, they are evaluated for that tendency - a brave cat is allowed to walk near the dog, but just out of reach (I think those cats get a kick out of it!).

Here's Clementine. She's a retired racing greyhound who kicked *** on tracks in West Virginia, and even has a fan club. She's now living the life of luxury in the Philadelphia suburbs, relaxing a lot. Here she's showing off her scary halloween collar.
Greyhounds are the BEST. On our 2nd one and, if I ever figure out how to, I'll post a pic of Bosco.

Beautiful dog. It is a Shiloh Shepherd?

The person we got her from pretended she's a purebred German Shepherd, but we're quite certain she's at least half Shiloh. We've learned a lot about bad breeders since then when my wife got into Schutzhund, and hate that we bought from someone like that, but we also can't argue with what Libby means to our son.

She's just beautiful, and it's wonderful that your son has that relationship with her.

Here’s another on Blitz. He can’t just chew a ball. He has to try to knock it under the couch or chairs and challenge himself to get it. Sometimes he goes too far, and comes up to me in my office whining and encouraging me to follow him. He’ll take me right to it and point. Usually I just have to go lift a couch for him. But one time….
