Last year was the opening year of our official weekend threads, and I’m sure some of y’all may have gotten a little tired of them every week, but I really enjoyed seeing what everybody had on the grill.

Fast forward a year, and I’m all for keeping this train going, but I’ve gotta say that I’m really not going to have a ton of time to do much other than post the weekly threads. Here are a few quick questions so that I can gauge interest.

1. Are y’all interested in the weekly cooking threads?
2. Preference on having weekly themes or leaving it wide open?
3. Do we care about the voting contest or is simply having the thread enough?
4. Any other suggestions or recommended rule changes?

Again, I’m going to be limited on time this Fall, so I’d like to try to keep things as simple as possible, but y’all let me know what you think. Feelings won’t be hurt either way

I dig it. Let’s do it.

Voting looks fun too. All the winners go into a “playoff” after the season?

You know I’m in. Will miss quite a few because of soccer though.

I’m in. Added a blackstone to the lineup. So I’m ready to be even more annoying.

Here’s 2 from last week. Smoked a whole brisket for the wife and I. Had a lot of leftovers. Below are my creations.

chopped brisket cheese steak. Onions, peppers, mushrooms, and provolone.

The next day. Heated up some left over pulled pork and made a Memphis Peacemaker. Pulled pork, chopped brisket, slaw, bbq sauce, and lots of hot sauce. A few garden peppers on the side.

1. Yes.
2. Don’t care either way but it does even the playing field a little when I’m frying up backstrap and someone else is grilling a tomahawk.
3. I like the vote.
4. Increase the steaks (pun intended). One big vote at the end on all the weekly winners. DS has to donate $17 to an MSU NIL fund in the overall winner’s SPS name. Sorry DS. We know you’re rich from SPS.
5. The rest of you don’t know how to respond to numbered questions. No sarcasterisks.

1. Are y’all interested in the weekly cooking threads?
Yes. Food porn is always good.

2. Preference on having weekly themes or leaving it wide open?
Not necessary every week.

3. Do we care about the voting contest or is simply having the thread enough?
I am fine either way.

4. Any other suggestions or recommended rule changes?
IDK

Thanks for the responses. I’ll give it some more thought this weekend, but it sounds like there’s enough interest to at least keep the tradition going for another year. Will more than likely nix the weekly themes to keep things simple, but we’ll keep the weekly voting, and I love the idea of some kind of season ending grand cook off.

We’re just 2 weeks away boys
