It looked like this....once I realized she had the dog in the car, I did look for hair and found a few that I was able to wipe up...

Well, at least the dog was cute.

The real question is was the smoking excessive?
Considering that you have to “whack some weeds” tomorrow and have been drinking all day, shouldn’t it be time for you to go to bed?

Aside from neon orange, what other brightly colored vests do you don? 🙄

And here I once called you the dox king. Way off toolbag. Although I do wish I were drinking all day instead of cutting out sheetrock and replacing my shower faucet. Happy mothers day!

Were you smart enough to remove the valve guts before sweating the proximal copper joints or did you go “full lazy” and PEX it?

Full lazy is calling a plumber. Half lazy gets this.

A relatively clean install except for one thing.

The angle at which the CWS (cold water supply) line enters the valve ( I.e. the line on the left in the photo) is concerning.

IMHO the line should be longer so that it comes in parallel to the valve inlet. Perhaps there is a stud that is limiting your ability to sufficiently feed the line at the proper angle.

You have to give the inlet lines room for thermal expansion and contraction.

In these situations it’s actually easier to remove the entire back wall drywall. You can then move studs as necessary and hang a single sheet of drywall instead of trying to patch your cut out hole. Cheaper and easier to do so.

Plumbing rules:

Hot's on the left, shiat runs downhill, and don't bite your fingernails.

I'm busy bending aluminum tomorrow for the front porch after work. You have any tips on that? 🤣
