Does anybody have a read on what market price will be? Early indications online are that tickets will be available for below face - which surprises me.
Short notice, cold weather, students gone if not for the game, Holidays, etc. It’s got a lot working against it.Does anybody have a read on what market price will be? Early indications online are that tickets will be available for below face - which surprises me.
If one knows how to read the Ticketmaster site, it is pretty clear that ticket prices will be dropping substantially over the next several days.Does anybody have a read on what market price will be? Early indications online are that tickets will be available for below face - which surprises me.
If the game was against Alabama, or even Tennessee, there would be greater fan interest. Sitting in the cold a week before Christmas for Single Mom University is not all that appealing. If one knows how to read the Ticketmaster site, it is pretty clear that ticket prices will be dropping substantially over the next several days.
A lot of folks clearly bought earlier - with the idea that they would be able to resell at a profit. Unless they stumble into a buyer who doesn't know better, they will not be recouping their costs.
Zero sympathy for them!!! Flippers are scumPity the people who never planned to attend and thought they could make a big profit on resale.
It’s not like they are trying to cross the channel and arrive under fire (er, maybe???). Fly into MDT/PIT/LBE/CLE/AVP/ABE/EWR/PHL/BWI and rent a car. Three or four hours tops. Find a hotel on the way. This isn’t a military operation. Then again, they are Texans, so maybe this is difficult for them.None of the other locations of first round games are literally in the middle of no where and ND/Indiana will draw because of the in-state matchup.
Hell, SMU fans are probably like holy hell, it is not easy to get to State College unless you fly into SCE.

Now go check the other 3 games and tell me why their prices are highShort notice, cold weather, students gone if not for the game, Holidays, etc. It’s got a lot working against it.
Because we have some unique challenges that don’t necessarily apply elsewhere…part of why our basketball attendance can be such a struggle when other big schools have no problem filling their arenas. Now go check the other 3 games and tell me why their prices are high
Who the f wants to fly and then still drive 2-4 hrs to central PA in the 3rd week of December? Doubt many SMU diehards do.It’s not like they are trying to cross the channel and arrive under fire (er, maybe???). Fly into MDT/PIT/LBE/CLE/AVP/ABE/EWR/PHL/BWI and rent a car. Begs the question, what’s better for the university, a museum or an airport (answer is an airport)Who the f wants to fly and then still drive 2-4 hrs to central PA in the 3rd week of December? Doubt many SMU diehards do.
Sure as heck ain’t that waste of money museum.Begs the question, what’s better for the university, a museum or an airport (answer is an airport)
The trouble is that the area is too small to support an airport with regular service with anything more than rather small aircraft--and almost not even that.Begs the question, what’s better for the university, a museum or an airport (answer is an airport)
Two are in large cities. Austin and Columbus have become major US cities over the past 20 years--between 14th and 16th largest. There's far more of a market--and one that doesn't require travel. Notre Dame Stadium is 30K smaller than Beaver Stadium. Now go check the other 3 games and tell me why their prices are high
IPT in Williamsport was updated to the tune of $20M I think. Of course there are next to zero flights available in or out.The trouble is that the area is too small to support an airport with regular service with anything more than rather small aircraft--and almost not even that.
