Told you in another thread ACCwants the taters to win this game. More marketable than SMU - that was one of the biggest BS calls I’ve seen

Honestly, I think CU is just the better team, and even if they weren't I truly believe things would happen to "work out" so that the ACC could get two teams in. Plus, if CU wins, that likely knocks Alabama out. Right?

Tells me SMU and Miami have no business in the playoffs. We’ll see, game is not over, but SMU needs to get something going. Have they beaten any ranked teams?

SMU does not look like a playoff-caliber team.

Frankly, if Clemson, with 2 OOC losses, is your conference champion, that should be a cascading negative datapoint for every other team in the conference.

"cascading negative datapoint"

Oooo.... Ahhhh... That's gonna be my catch phrase for the rest of this redonkulus playoff scheme.

Let's see...

You're the champ of your conference but winless against another one?

Sounds like the sort of datapoint old Warde would use to justify vaulting said conference champ into a first-round bye.

It makes perfect sense if you don't think about it.

Yea I’m calling BS on that one. Much easier to say now that we’ve already taken care of business against them, but they have a great defense. SMU offense is only good against trash teams.

Guys, you might not want to feed the tater troll... but that's up to you.

ACC is really a $hi! conference this year. Looks like Clemson will be the champion. We’re #6 in the SEC and beat them at their house. SMU looks like a middle-of-th-pack Sun Belt team tonight. If the committee puts both of them in over Bama, Ole Miss, and us,, they have no credibility.

This new 12 team playoffs first year is turning out to be a complete joke. You can be a joke team from a joke conference that's beaten absolutely nobody and make a playoff. Clemsons best win will be against a team that's played the easiest schedule in the Country and in no way is a top 25 team.

Hey! SMU's schedule is not the easiest in the country! It's only the 2nd easiest. Lol

(I think Indiana's was the easiest)

SMU has no business in the playoffs. JMHO.....

Whoever they face in the 1st round, it will be another blowout. They simply do not belong on the same field with the big boys and it's showing.

So, with that result, the committee will probably keep SMU in, and boot out Alabama.

The SEC gets screwed.

Do we still love the SEC? Big 12, MWC get in, and the team we just beat at their place does, too.

Clemson beat nobody. Commentators pointed out SMU played the weakest schedule of any power 4 team. SMU nor Miami should be in the playoffs. Oregon should win it, anyone but the Taters. They shouldn’t get a bye, but even if, they won’t get much farther than the 1st round.

Well last week's game meant absolutely sqaut. They're in the playoffs and SC is in a meaningless bowl game. The first thing the new AD should start doing is finding the crapiest conferences and call and make deal with them. Other than money being in the SEC under this current format does nothing but kill your chances of a playoff birth. It rewards weak conferences and strength of schedule doesn't apply.

Great day for the State of South Carolina! We can all be proud. It's always better when a team from the State is in the playoffs. Seven times!

They’ll make adjustments to playoff and selection over the next couple of years. Just in time to have the changes cost us again. Remember when only 2 teams from 1 conference could play in BCS Bowls? We would’ve played in 3 in a row without that rule. Pretty sure the first year they changed it was the year we fell off.

The rivalry game always mean absolutely squat to the Tigers! The Gamecocks are the ones who put so much stock in it.
