Dude stop. They earned their way in fair and square. Not really - we don't celebrate DEI appointments around here. We prefer to get things the old fashioned way - we earn them... 17 points at a time.

Yep I would take a loss for a playoff spot.
ROTFLMAOThe rivalry game always mean absolutely squat to the Tigers! The Gamecocks are the ones who put so much stock in it.
They win - "Suck it! We take football seriously and own you! We live for this game!"ROTFLMAO
Yeah, it means so little to the Triggers that they run over here every chance they get to tell us how much they don't care about us.
Dude stop. They earned their way in fair and square.
Y'all beat us and want the CFP committee to show you favor for doing so, but we win our conference and we're the tallest midget. So what you're saying is you only beat the tallest midget, right!!They win - "Suck it! We take football seriously and own you! We live for this game!"
They lose - "It's no big deal to us, we focus on Tallest Midget Titles".
Yep, pretty much sums it up.
News flash that’s not how it works, they earned their spot fair and square by the rules. Saying anything else just makes you look like an idiot.I agree - they earned their reserved DEI spot, fair and square.
They did not earn a spot because they were one of the 12 best teams.
I stand by my statement. If you think they're in because they're one of the 12 best teams, please make your case.
You're rabbit trailing now and confusing posters on this board.Y'all beat us and want the CFP committee to show you favor for doing so, but we win our conference and we're the tallest midget. So what you're saying is you only beat the tallest midget, right!!
So, I am sure you feel we should be. Right?Great day for the State of South Carolina! We can all be proud. It's always better when a team from the State is in the playoffs. Seven times!

If you win your conference? Absolutely! So, I am sure you feel we should be. Right?
Which means what exactly, Jack ****. They go to a playoff and we get what some ranked wins. Yeah keep pounding that chest and looking like an idiot. You're rabbit trailing now and confusing posters on this board.
But one thing is correct - USC did beat the taters and is definitely taller than those midgets... but they aren't the only ones USC beat. They have 4 wins over ranked teams, your scalp is just one of them.
News flash that’s not how it works, they earned their spot fair and square by the rules. Saying anything else just makes you look like an idiot.
Translation-no. In your mind this is completely just even though we are better than you this year.If you win your conference? Absolutely!
The playoff doesn’t house the 12 best teams. It has rules and they accomplished that no matter how bad you dislike it. They got in per the rules. You sound like a woman scorned lol. Please point out what I said that is inaccurate.
News flash - there isn't anything; you just don't like my characterization of the system.
Now, please make the case that they're one of the 12 best teams - or are you afraid that attempting to do so will make you look like an idiot?
At this point it's apparent you're just stalking me when I make factual statements (especially to trolls) that you don't like. You can't dispute the facts so you just start calling names.Which means what exactly, Jack ****. They go to a playoff and we get what some ranked wins. Again you sound salty. Fact is Clemson got in per the rules. They earned there way in period. At this point it's apparent you're just stalking me when I make factual statements (especially to trolls) that you don't like. You can't dispute the facts so you just start calling names.
I'm gonna have to pass on this game. If you don't like something or disagree with it, just pass on by or hit the ignore button.
Have a good, sane evening.
Nite-nite.
Just as I thought - you can't.The playoff doesn’t house the 12 best teams. It has rules and they accomplished that no matter how bad you dislike it. They got in per the rules. You sound like a woman scorned lol.
I did they earned their way into a 12 team playoff period.Just as I thought - you can't.
Game over.
G'nite.
We realize that. Our issue is that the current system is set up to reward lesser teams like yours.Lol, reading comprehension isn't everyone's strong suit. If you win your conference, you will make the playoff. I apologize for confusing you with polysyllabic words.![]()
Congrats on that Worlds Tallest Midget trophy.Great day for the State of South Carolina! We can all be proud. It's always better when a team from the State is in the playoffs. Seven times!
Is there a meaningful bowl game?Well last week's game meant absolutely sqaut. They're in the playoffs and SC is in a meaningless bowl game. The first thing the new AD should start doing is finding the crapiest conferences and call and make deal with them. Other than money being in the SEC under this current format does nothing but kill your chances of a playoff birth. It rewards weak conferences and strength of schedule doesn't apply.
Rivalry games mean less when they're interconference matchups. The rivalry game always mean absolutely squat to the Tigers! The Gamecocks are the ones who put so much stock in it.
This is what SOS was preaching 10 years ago.Yep I would take a loss for a playoff spot.

No reasonable person would state that any AQ is automatically among the 12 best teams.I agree - they earned their reserved DEI spot, fair and square.
They did not earn a spot because they were one of the 12 best teams.
I stand by my statement. If you think they're in because they're one of the 12 best teams, please make your case.
I would suggest it's a work-in-progress.Whoever signed off on the current system must have been high.
The South Carolina High School League has done somehting similar in the past on a point system, Play someone in your conference (e.g., an AAAA school playing another AAAA school, or an out of state opponent whose enrollment would make them AAAA were they in SC) and you get X points. Play an AAA school with a winning record (or an OOS equivalent), you also get x points. Play an AAA school or OOS equivalent with a losing record gets you X-1 points. And so forth. As a high school teacher, I see GPAs regularly. Many of you know it's common to have a "normal" GPA (4.0 scale) and a weighted GPA (often up to 5.0 or 6.0). The weighted system is in place to differentiate between kids who take honors/AP classes and those who take lower-level classes. Without it, the latter would appear to have performed just as well as the former in the event both achieved all As. We know this is simply not the case, though.
Why can't the powers that be come up with something similar for the playoffs and eliminate the automatic bids? For example, a win might be worth 1 quality point at base, but a win against a top-25 team might be worth 1.2. top-20 wins are 1.4, top-15 is 1.6, top-10 is 1.8, and top-5 is 2.0. Likewise, losses could be calculated in a similar fashion. a loss to a top-5 team subtracts .2, top 10 would be .4, and so on.
Does this make sense to anyone else?
Also, even though I'm not a fan of the basic premise, this type of quantification could be used to score margin of victory or defeat.
Again, I really dislike the idea of auto bids. IMO, it's punishing those who have tougher competition and rewarding those who face lesser competition. The South Carolina High School League has done somehting similar in the past on a point system, Play someone in your conference (e.g., an AAAA school playing another AAAA school, or an out of state opponent whose enrollment would make them AAAA were they in SC) and you get X points. As stated many times, I do like the AQ. And that would mean this year that in all likelihood, Army, Jax State, Marshall, and Ohio would have first round games on the road at those who get a first round bye. Either that, or set up the G5 with their own playoffs.
No sensible person would argue that these four are among the 16 best in the country. Bu I contend they need to dance for the integrity of conferences. Dance either with the P4 or among themselves.
I think power = perception, $$$, and media markets.Again, I really dislike the idea of auto bids. IMO, it's punishing those who have tougher competition and rewarding those who face lesser competition.
Along those lines, I wonder what qualifies a conference to be considered a "power" conference. Is it the members? If so, then should conferences who have had to replenish their membership with teams from "G5" conferences have to be reclassified?
