So does this board like Selmon now?

I have always liked the background of Selmon. He came from a sports behemoth and, more importantly, couldn’t have pointed to Starkville on a map. Nepotism has never been our friend here, and these are the types of ADs we need going forward.

I think he canned Lem as early as he possibly could, when he’d given him just enough rope to hang himself. This was the biggest name on our board, and we got him. Helluva job by MSU and Selmon!

If you think CBOC would play for Cohen then you obviously don't know either of them well
I’m not talking about O’Connor specifically, but when Cohen described the guy to replace Cannizarro, he described a guy like O’Connor.

“I’m not going to take anything off the table at this point in time because you just don’t know what’s going to transpire over the next two to three months, but I will tell you this: this person is going to have serious baseball experience as a head coach. This person is going to have made trips to Omaha, Nebraska. This person is going to have expertise in an area of the game and in all facets of the game. And this person is going to make our fan base very happy.”

Agreed. I'm just saying Cohen and O'Connor are like oil and water. Two very different dudes.

Not only that, some of these folks actually think Selmon made this hire.

He ‘facilitated’, at best.
It's the fact that he did whatever needed to be done to make a hire like this possible. Who cares how it happened. Whether he was involved in the day to do or not, it all falls on him. He could have gone another way but it went this way and it worked, unlike the last baseball search/hire.

This will be like Mullen at UNLV. We do not have the cash to pay him past year 2.

Time for me to go find some big penis to gobble on.
This is the dumbest thing I've read in a while. Baseball we should never be short in cash. All we have to do is add temporary bleachers (it'll be like lsu, fsu, etc) and charge reserved seating for the season. They will sell. Say you add 1k seats at $1k a seat. There is an easy million right there. Play with the numbers as you'd like.
