So does this board like Selmon now?

And once the ten year seat deal is over and you all have to pay the actual value for the baseball seats, that's a huge increase in revenue.

This is the dumbest thing I've read in a while. Baseball we should never be short in cash. All we have to do is add temporary bleachers (it'll be like lsu, fsu, etc) and charge reserved seating for the season. They will sell. Say you add 1k seats at $1k a seat. There is an easy million right there. Play with the numbers as you'd like.
It’s Irish … of course it makes no sense

Gary Fencik , Yale is a tough one. Played reciever in college.
Gary here and I’m Mr. Clean,
Call me Hitman,
Don’t know what they mean,
They throw it long,
And watch me run,
I’m on my man,
One on one,
Buddy’s guys cover it down to the bone,
That’s why they call it the 46 zone,
C’mon everybody,
Let’s scream and yell,
I’m gonna do the hustle,
And ring your bell

Just off the Fly … lol come on, I was just trying to be silly. Don’t get mad.
I thought it was funny.

Relax, you aren’t gonna be able to get me mad. I WAS however wondering how venturing into bathrooms and smelling others dookie, popped into your mind.

Never disliked him and thought he was doing a good job with some of the fan experience stuff as it relates to football and basketball. Not only is this a great hire, the timing of it is on point given the portal and also the national exposure college baseball is getting just, because it’s regional/super regional time. About as maximum impact of a hire as could be made in college baseball.

Heck yeah. Selmon proved a lot of people wrong with that hire. Excited for the future of Mississippi State athletics!!

Boy was I wrong about the hire. I thought we would cheap out, given budget constraints. It's clear Selmon is "all in" on baseball.

I personally think it's a mistake, but as a State fan (which means I have a soft spot for college baseball) it's pretty exciting.

I admit I was wrong: I was against firing Lemonis, not because the last four years have been acceptable, but because I thought the end result would be spending a lot of money to hire a worse coach (Will Coggin).

I can't think of any other coach in the country I would hand-pick over O'Connor. I have been a massive fan of his since 2009. I assumed he would finish his career at Virginia. Credit Selmon and the other decision makers for believing they could pull it off.

If we had fired Lemonis any other time other than now, we probably do end up with a Coggin-level guy. And I'm not saying Coggin isn't good, I'm just speaking from his lack of experience. After 2023 would have been really, really bad.

This was perfect timing, and I'm glad our boosters made this happen.

After a 2-yr drought, he has made up some serious ground at light's speed over the last couple months. Tip of the hat to Selmon for not only proving that he's not going to let baseball die on a vine, but that he's ready to take it to another level

Agreed. Next big decisions come in December. If he gets that right I’ll be all aboard the Selmon train.

I thought baseball didn’t matter?
It probably didn't as much until someone learn that it was important to the fans, the very same fans they need to get football back on strong footing. I never bought in the narrative that baseball fans did not care about football. That's bull ****. I care about both and have a strong belief we need to be good in both. Baseball fans are football fans.

I know I’ll never get to see it but I would love to see this board after we won a NC in football and the basketball teams were both undefeated. Inevitably there would be some poster in the thread claiming it was despite the coach that he doesn’t like that we won it all. There would be someone else posting that he heard the entire team is transferring and someone else posting he heard we looked terrible in fall ball and are probably finishing dead last in baseball. Oh yeah and the cups stink.
