gone elsewhere...in fact he left UGA to come back.... Richard Williams had offers but turned them down and I would assume Stans has had some...

I'm assuming Sherill never had any during his tenure here at State... if he did, it is obvious he turned them down...

look at our coaching stability and success in hoops compared to @!$!...

look at how our coaching search went in football compared to what ole miss went thru after they fired cutcliff... they had to settle on a DL coach... they simply lucked into nutt.. .. but we fired our coach and within a short period of time hired the best O coordinator in the country.. ole miss was constantly being turned down by everyone they offered

that being said, there are not a lot of football teams outside of the NFL that UF couldn't steal their coach

going to Bama at one time.....However, with him a lot of schools were scared off due to his baggage with the NCAA......I still think if we get a football coach who comes in and who can sustain some type of success it will be very hard for MSU to keep'em........We play in the most lucrative football conference in the country and have one of the smallest budgets and have a hard time recruiting against the big boys.......Great players make for great coaches.......</p>

Jackie to Bama was a very, very long shot, pipe dream at best. However, there were serious rumors of him going to the Bucs very early on in his tenure at MSU.
