Beamer, obviously is good.
Same for White.
I was pretty unsettled about Loggains, but seeing how the offense has improved as Lanorris has developed has been encouraging.
Still think we can get an upgrade on Teasley.
Furrey seems to have done a decent enough job...WRs are coming around. Nyck has shown some flashes recently.
Hard to saw with Blackwell. Sanders is obviously a stud, so will have to see what he does with some of our own talent.

Just my observations : I'd like to see a massive upgrade at OC in the offseason. Reason I say 'massive' is because if we can get a huge OC improvement, we should go for it....... but if it's going to be only a slight upgrade, it can be regressive and not worth it.

2 things I really would like to see is the implementation of Sweeps to the WR's and also some quick slants. I don't think I've seen one of either of those this season. Quick slants draws the D up and thus makes it easier for speed (Harbor) to get deep and be open.

Sweeps are just extensions of the run game and we seem to favor the run game so..... it just makes sense + getting the ball into your playmakers hands. Other than that .... carry on..... not much to gripe about really.

Agreed, OC could use an upgrade. Too early to discuss, but wondering if we keep the D staff intact.

Unless we hit the portal HARD this offseason, the O is going to have to carry us.

I've been very pleased with the offense. It's improved by leaps and bounds as the season progressed. We're averaging 30.6 points/game so far with a first year starter at QB and no proven receivers. We averaged 32 points/game in 2022, as a comparison, and that is partially skewed by the Tennessee explosion. I think the offense is on the right track.

You’re telling me you want Dowell Loggains replaced? Come on guys, he’s developed our young offensive talent so well this season. Just look at how they have progressed week after week. It’s night and day from the beginning of the season. He's taken an extremely young group of guys and in my opinion has done a better job than most any other coordinator could do.
Another thing to keep in mind is, our offense, like I said, is progressing week after week. No denying that. So, that tells me they are getting more and more comfortable with the playbook etc. Why would we want to take 2 steps back and have our rapidly improving offense have to just throw everything away they learned this season, just to do it all over again with a new OC and scheme next season. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!!

I’m on Team Dowell Loggains!!

I’m not 100% certain on anyone other than a change needs to be made on OL.

Otherwise It can be hard to know when talent masks coaching deficiencies or when coaching has to scheme around talent deficiencies. Loggains looked and sounded like a bafoon last season and for a good portion of this season. Is he really improving or is Sellers becoming a stud?

Coming into the season not sure I would have missed Clayton White. Kinnard and Stewart have revolutionized the way the whole defense can play. Is White a good DC who lacked enough players or is the talent level making up for him?

But at this rate you don’t make any changes as an HC other than OL. But alot remains to be seen on how this staff, assuming it remains in tact, on if they can keep things going.

IMO...... For the most part, our OC has put players in a position to make plays and win games. At the beginning of the year, there were drops and stupid decisions made by players that hurt us, but the plays were still there though not executed.

Don't get me wrong, he has had some bonehead plays sprinkled in there, but overall it's ok....

The glaring weak spot is the O LINE.... We need a new OL coach. Without blocking, you can't expect to run an offensive plan.

Replace OL coach and I'm happy

absolutely, I just believe the ones that never liked the Loggains hire will continue to push against him no matter what. he has called some great games, and when we go conservative, it doesn't take a genius to realize that the handcuffs were put on him. oc's by nature wanna score every time

I agree, the offense has been clicking. But every coach, OC and DC, will have off days (perhaps Coach White had one against Missouri).

And to make it even more complicated, their success is dependent upon the quality of players and their execution. They can call a perfect game but if the players don’t perform, it can be all for naught.

Saban is the only head coach who seemed to have the right formula regardless of the staff and player turnover. But I imagine even he would struggle in this new era of NIL and portal nonsense.

We beat aTm. We beat a UK team on the slide. We were waxed by Ole Miss at home and struggled against ODU. We blew the Bama game and we also blew a home game to an obviously non-standard LSU. We came back and won in the final minute against a team we were favored by 2 TDs -- and fans are talking playoffs. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I agree, the playoff talk is silly.

However, as a side note, the line for the Missouri game was absolutely absurd. No idea where they came up with that. Nobody on the planet thought we'd beat them by 2 TDs.

Am I hallucinating, or did Missouri not move a spot after losing?

Missouri is a constant fraud when built up as conference and national contenders. They were absolutely waxed by the only decent teams they played prior to Sat. Beating them by 2 TD’s was possible.

Said last week a 3 score victory was possible if, if the SC of the previous 2 weeks showed up. If we got typical SC showing against Missouri it’s a loss. The defense showed as desired in the first half, but the offense only did for portions; and they still produced a 2 to 3 score lead and had all the momentum. Something evaporated at halftime and we got the typical showing for most of that half and just about lost that game. A 2 TD, or more, win was certainly possible.

Yeah, that is true. I guess being a fan and knowing the recent history of the series, I didn't see a 14 point win being likely.

Yeah, still 23, which I guess is a compliment to us. They committee doesn't consider it a bad loss for them.

Perhaps some people around them lost too? I didn't pay that much attention.

I would lose significant respect for the committee if they decided to not "punish" teams for losing. If it happened to so.eone above us, we'd be livid.

Listed as a potential candidate for the Charlotte job. That is the double edge sword in CFB, when you have good a good position coach or coordinator that puts them in consideration for other jobs and or promotions.

We can pay him more at DC than they will pay him as HC. I still think DC in the premiere conference in college football is a better gig than HC at a bad AAC school, but that's just me. If he stays here another couple years with strong defenses, he could be in line for a lower or mid P4 job instead of a G5 job.

One article I saw said that what Charlotte will pay may not be not enough lure any P4 coordinators.

Say we realize the best case scenario of a 10-3 finish. Does Beamer have the makeup to still look at ways to upgrade the staff? My gut says "no". Even for a position that has mostly underperformed like the OL.

We had them in position for a blowout with our first drive of the second half and when we got on their side of the field DL reverted back to his early season play calling with runs into the line. Had we executed that drive and gone up 28-6, I think a 2 TD margin would have been realistic.
