Edited to add: I have heard that this related to a reallocation of funds from three state universities to one university. Apparently, this reallocation is fairly dramatic.

This much I pretty much know to be a fact. In late January, Meredith sent out an e-mail to Foglesong that was described as "scathing".

I don't know what is going on, just reporting some things I have heard today.
