You think he is NBA ready? I’m just not seeing this all world talent we heard about
Maybe it’s the scheme or lack of talent around him— I don’t know
Whether he is NBA ready or not, he’s got a chance to be a lottery pick. CBS has him as the 18th rated prospect. They’ll develop him. He’s also likely going to be on the Freshman All-SEC Team. He’s one of the best freshmen in the country, easily. He’s surrounded by a bunch of guys that have no business playing at this level.

No reason for our fans to turn on our highest ranked recruit ever. He’s playing good ball for us when he should still be a High School Senior, with absolutely no help. Hate we had absolutely no talent whatsoever when we finally landed one of these big time in-state recruits.

Everything will be on his timeline. I assume he's going to the NBA draft after this season, he will definitely get drafted and will likely at least play in the G-league to develop his game. There's a slim chance he stays and to try to improve the program with a 2nd year, but I think he's gone. He's super young and has a lot of upside, I'm glad he chose to be a Gamecock, I just wish he had a solid team to work with.

I read two NBA draft analysts last week who said he still projects as a lottery pick. That was before the UT game, but scouts won't be swayed by one game. He's the second leading scoring freshman in college basketball (or was before the UT game). Scouts will also consider that he's playing for a terrible team. If the UT game was a one-off, it won't matter. Most outside the program seem to feel he's lived up to expectations. We would view him a lot differently if we were a top 25 team. When a team is as bad as we are, it's very difficult to see any positives.

If people are keying on him to such a degree that he gets "0" points, why aren't our other players getting easy looks and buckets? Are the complimentary players really that bad!

Didn't score a point against Tennessee now what do you think he will do against NBA players.

I'm not overly worried. It was one game. At the risk of going down the Bentley path, it bears noting that he should still be in high school and It was his 15th collegiate game against a top 10 team in a situation where we didn't stand a chance. This team is GG and nobody else. Still, a very bad game for him. But, as Lamont basically said, it had more to do with attitude/effort than anything else. As of last week, NBA scouts still believed the skills were there, even if raw.

I have to think, with his age, there's probably a bit of immaturity (if you want to call it that) that leads to discouragement when you realize you're going out there not standing a chance and that you have no help around you. Lamont admonished him for that.

Flush the UT game. Can't let that game dictate the future. Jackson will be fine. On to Kentucky where the score right now is 0-0.

The NBA drafts super young guys totally on potential. GG has already shown enough to be a high draft pick. They figure they’ll be able to mold him into what they need him to be.
