RPI is 32 so we’ll be a low 2 or high 3 seed. My guess is we’re going out west. Either Oregon St or UCLA.

Wherever Larry Templeton wants us to go, or at least that's what the Rebels have always said.

I have been thinking it will be out west but dark horse possibility is Conway as a 3 seed paired with an ACC 2 seed.

2 or3 is irrelevant, they are both the same, question is will we play in a region with a national seed. (1-8) Hope not.
Two will kick it off with a three.

I think we will be a 3 seed at a site with a non Power 4 2 seed. Irvine, Northeastern, Southern Miss are possibilities.

Irvine will be at UCLA. Northeastern can go anywhere.

I feel really good about winning game 1 if we’re matched up with Northeastern.

Depends on who we’re matched up against. Might be better to be a 3 matched with a weak 2 than a 2 matched with a strong 3.

Projections are more about seeding than who is paired with who (beyond the Top 16). There are going to be 8 different locations we are eligible to be sent to and I’m not sure any of them are more or less likely than the others. Especially since we are going to be a low 2 seed or a 3 seed.

It’s been a while since we were sent out west. Have we been out west since the 1996 Palo Alto regional?

Not for a regional. We played in a Super Regional at Cal State Fullerton in the early 2000’s that of course did not end well.

We’ve typically been sent to an ACC location in non-host years in the current format. We’ve been to Clemson, Ga Tech (multiple times), FSU (multiple times), Miami, and Virginia. In fact, I think USM and ULL a few years back were the only non-ACC locations we’ve been sent to since 2001.

Speaking of 2001, I forgot how weird that year was. We were sent to Ohio State, but somehow we were the #1 seed. Still was a lot of blatant cold weather school bias going on in those days. Obviously we would have raked in tons more money than any Big 10 team, and we were the better team. Thankfully that nonsense has mostly disappeared since they got more transparent with the selection criteria for the most part.

No host is going to be happy to see us as their 3.

It's not that any host is going to think "oh no, we're probably going to lose our Regional because Mississippi State is in it." It's just other hosts are going to get East Tennessee State, Columbia, Rhode Island, etc., as their 3s, but someone is going to draw a 15-15 SEC team who is playing much better late than they were early.

You’re crazy if you don’t think FSU fans don’t wince a little bit when MSU baseball is mentioned. I lived in the Panhandle and they have an over the top respect of our program.
Im sure they’ve got some bad memories. But I doubt they’re worried about us this year.

That Ohio State regional was weird. Ohio State went 0-2 and Kent State had us dead to rights in the opener with the national saves leader playing third base. We torched him then beat Delaware twice to advance.

Eff you genespager. Go watch some travel ball. This year is now
You know, it's been many many years since I've been a member of Genespage, but I have to say, Genespage was a lot better than anything here. The members there actually knew sports very well and could discuss them intelligently. Don't get me wrong, there's some good posters here, just very few of them......and trust me and everybody else I've spoken to......you ain't one of them. So you can go back to your farm and 17 your favorite Goat since your wife opted out on you. Probably need to rename this site "GIFPackPaste" since that's all anybody knows how or what to do.

Calm down until there's something to actually discuss. That's what all the "good posters" do. Put the phone down
