This quote just baffles me. I guess we will not be competing for overall SEC Champ. That is bad, Rick.:<div>

I keep trying to figure out what the hell he means but if you are one of the top teams, you will compete for the SEC Championship. I don't get that statement he made.

Now I would have understood him saying that we cannot compete for 1st place in the West, that I get and that is his bottom line.

Rick loved to talk about West championships to recruits and especiallyto alumni. This is a big hit to him. Bottom line, if you can win the West and not make the NCAAT then winning the West is meaningless.

It's funny, Andy Katz and others have talked about how having divisions hurts MSU the most yet Stans is the most vocal proponent. </p>

He's right. On the final Saturday when Kentucky has a 4 game lead for the overall title with a 13-2 record, Stans is 7-8 and trying to get that magical 8th win over mighty Auburn to seal the SEC West Championship in front of 6500 rowdy MSU fans.

The basketball vote went 11-1 with Mississippi State's Rick Stansbury as the only coach wanting divisions to remain.<span class="aa"></span><span class="pp"></span>

"My
biggest reason is it takes away from the fans," said Stansbury, who has
won five SEC West titles. "<span style="font-weight: bold;">It takes away an opportunity to win a
championship.</span> It takes away the excitement created late in the season
when you're going for a division title. <span style="font-weight: bold;">Players like winning
championships and hanging banners, believe me. We had two champions. Now
we'll just have one. I just really don't understand why the other five
West coaches would vote against divisions. But it is what it is.</span>"

No Stans, you like to hang banners and talk about SEC West Titles, while your team doesn't even make the NCAA tourney. Shut the hell up and win the SEC and make the NCAA tourney you little whining *****........

Your program will never reach its potential with a coach like that. He can't be successful with a loser's mentality, and his quote proves that mentality.

What a damn joke.
