I doubt we’ll see much no safety help on defense the rest of the season. Those long TD passes vs Arizona St were easy. It won’t be that easy going forward.I was shocked at how we came out vs ASU!
We do that against UT and hold on somehow down the stretch and we have a chance.
UT has more athleticism at most every position than we do but we CANNOT have the stupid holding penalties, the false starts, the shanked punts and expect to be anywhere close to winning in the 4th Qrt.
Hopefully the running game will take advantage. We need to be able to run clock and keep them off the field anyway.I doubt we’ll see much no safety help on defense the rest of the season. Those long TD passes vs Arizona St were easy. It won’t be that easy going forward.
Agree, I think to have a chance it needs to look a lot like the Arizona State game, with the exception of a better 2nd half. Get the lead and hold on. TN is the more talented, explosive team. MSU needs the crowd to be electric, but especially to start the game, We need the crowd into the game for all 4 quarters. For me - it's we scored early and held on. Early turnover where we get the ball deep in TN territory or scored immediately off the turnover.
They average over 200 yards/game rushing. That has been our weakest point defensively. They ran for almost 250 yds vs Syracuse and ran for 125 vs Georgia.
