1. Rattler is a warrior! Too bad we wasted his time here by recruiting 2* athletes on the O line and have lack of depth in all positions. He isn’t given enough time to go thru his progressions.
2. Our defense plays sporadically but the safeties and cb’s are trash. We need to recruit better and teach these kids to look back at the qb.
3. We have no depth a rb. Joyner is a true gamecock but he’s not a rb. Juju is too small to be a rb; slot receiver is better.
4. defensive coaches need to be changed!

Our OL is basically non existent. and It wont matter who is playing QB or RB, there is simply no opportunity for success. For all the rancorous comments aimed at the D which is somewhat justified, the offense is not making their job any easier,

I'm not really upset. The season has gone about as I thought it would. I've never been totally sold on Beamer, but the jury is still out. If he does nothing but bristle over criticism, then I'll be upset.

My thoughts which are in agreement with yours
1. Rattler is a gem and has made the greatest improvement over a season I've seen in a QB
2. Watching other teams DB's and SF, it is obvious ours have not been coached properly and our LB's are constantly out of position
3. Anderson is doing quite a job considering our OL play but we have no depth - excellent recruits on the way but will have to grow up fast
4. Chris Hampton co-DC at Oregon is a good one to target - have to make a change or Beamer will not survive

I would suggest everyone listen to the GC Live Postgame with Anderson

Just skip to the 17 to 20 minute mark, then ask yourself if he’s right. Beamer is in year 3. 3 years does not build depth, experience or leadership when adversity hits. This team is super young

I live in Jax, FL sports radio here would say in Spurriers 4th or 5th year he should hang it up. He couldn’t do it anymore. He then decided to change. He put in the time to recruit and made coaching changes. Things improved

Heck people on here have been pissed that Harbor wasn’t playing more in the first half of the season. Somehow we all love recruiting but can’t remember he played TE and DE in HS. There was a talented guy who recently had his number retired who did play WR in HS but didn’t have his coming party until the 5th or 6th game Again , he needed some time.

Yes there are some things that Beamer needs to change. However the foundation can’t be set if there are calls to get rid of him now. We will become a revolving door with no chance to ever improve

I agree with everything you said and will add that our history makes fans very impatient as we all want to win now. We have not been involved with recruits like Beamer has made relationships with ever in our history and he deserves time to reap the benefits of his efforts and have those recruits live a mutually beneficial success here at Carolina with Coach Beamer.

In fairness, if he keeps the OL class together and keeps us freshmen linemen, he will have done a quality job recruiting lineman. Our best lineman are very young. Tree handles himself well unless he has to reach a much quicker guy. That will get better with college level work.

One more interesting item when you want to know where this program sits, go look at the past recruiting classes. See how many of those players finished, made an impact or stayed to finish at SC. I started at 2018. I was shocked of how many I’ve never heard of or don’t remember them playing here

That’s the answer in where this program sits. My dad has an old saying in this era of “STARS” , that star ⭐️ doesn’t mean jack **** until they strap on that chinstrap

I hope these guys workout, stick together and build a good future in this world of I want mine now

The portal has changed the timeline for success significantly. It absolutely killed you all this year. Beamer and co have to take advantage of it and figure out how to hang on to the players they have.

3 years doesn't build depth, but it can reveal trajectory.

There is no need worrying about the "revolving door" fear, Beamer will have this year and next at a minimum. And he won't be let go at the end of next year unless it's a wreck, and that would justify any change.

I’ve held my tongue on this, but enough.

The basic function of a receiver is to run and CATCH THE BALL. Jeffery didn’t get in that season because he finally achieved some ‘time’ he ‘needed’, he was put in because the guys in front of him by their position coach were NOT performing those basic functions to an effective degree. That’s from the horse’s mouth.

Same thing with Harbor. Number 3 for Missouri look like he was out there playing chess?

Matchups. Jeffery was a matchup problem; Harbor is a matchup problem. Tight end, wideout, whatever. ‘He’s not ready’ is coachspeak for we’re not going to sit someone else quite yet.

Harbor has impressed me in that the plays he is making are not based on speed alone and he shows signs of growth by using his size and strength to muscle some of the receptions he's been getting.

Not making excuses, but I can’t remember a time in my life I’ve seen a unit as decimated with injuries as our OL. We’re now talking about sliding TEs over to OT this week. I just don’t know what you do with that.

On Ratt, we didn’t waste his time. He’s being regarded as a potential 1st round pick now. Sure, he’d like to win. But if he goes in round 1 he’ll look back and say it was worth it. And that will be a huge recruiting tool for Logg.

Lou Holtz first year

Went down to 3rd string QB for a game

8 or 9 OL guys and moved DL Green was his name to play I think the last two or three games of the season

Under Spurrier we went down to the 3rd or 4th RB one year

So we aren’t in the Twilight Zone territory just yet

Do you really believe it is a recruiting tool to be able to tell a blue chip qb "Come play for us and lose a bunch of games but get drafted high"? Blue chip qbs get drafted high no matter where they play and they like to play for championships. Rattler came because he knew he wasn't going to start at Oklahoma and he could see there was no one on the depth chart at Carolina that he had to worry about playing ahead of him. He followed Stogner, he didn't pick Carolina because he thought he could win big here. He was pedestrian at best last season and he has looked good this season because we have no running game so he gets to throw a lot.

That's absurd. So you think his numbers just look better b/c he's throwing more?? Are you even watching?? What a joke.

We've had our fair share of blue chip QBs that flamed out....like all of them that have come here. Aside from 1 game last year, Ratt was disastrous. It is absolutely a recruiting too to be able to say "we turned a late round grade into a 1st round pick". QB is different than any other position. There's only one of them on the field. So yeah, opportunity to play and get to the NFL weighs more heavily for them.

Yeah, we attempted 32.6 passes per game last year. This year it's 34.5. Rattler has not looked better just because he's getting an extra 1.9 passes per game lol

Irrespective of the number of passes, his accuracy is up from 66.2% to 70.8%, which is remarkable when you consider how often he's been under duress and the fact that we've really only had one reliable receiving option this year.

Someone said it in another thread, and I agree...if we had an OL and if Juice were healthy, I think Rattler would be getting Heisman buzz. He's just been great this year.
