The construction report posted 6/13 says: Preliminary concept plan rejected by city- Owner to appeal decision- Further action pending approvals

Developer is out of Greenville, SC.

on the NW corner of University Drive and Hwy 12. The Cotton Mills mirage is on the SW corner of Russell and 12.

There's been a sign up on that lot (State View project) for years, though I can't recall what it says. I just thought it was odd that a new construction report was posted last week.

does anyone know if they have plans for the old bank/Burger King location? Obviously whatever someone does there they will pretty much have to tear it all down and start from scratch, but I'm curious if that lot/building is part of the Cotton Mills plan or if it's separate.

What's the difference between those and Campus Trails or the Point? I wonder why it was rejected...

Because the tan colored buildings across from this plot are all owned by the university and used for different things. I personally like the idea of building a big apartment complex in the cotton district because more students would be in walking distance of the bars. The only thing I don't like is the design. On the website it looks just like 21 or the Pointe. I feel like if you're going to try and build something like this in the district you have to make it aesthetically appealing like the rest of the new orleans-style buildings in the area. Otherwise in 10 years it will already look out of date. Thats whats great about the district, its architecture is timeless.
