Steelers Oline, a weakness for a few years just like PSU's, doing a decent job of opening some running lanes. And the Steelers running backs are getting nice YAC. Wouldn't it be nice to see the Steelers and Nittany Lions both do this when the games count?

17-10 Steelers at the half after Seattle executes their 2 minute offense to end the half.

Kenny in now.

Be right back.
Gotta give Picket credit for his first drive where he took the short stuff and dinked his way down the field for a TD. But in the NFL he won't have WR's like Addison that pretty often turn 3 yard passes into 30 yard gains, as was able to do in the ACC. He'll have to throw down the field. Good to see him get the 2nd half and for us to get a look at him........

This is weird. NFL Network switched to Dallas-Denver, but my Xfinity guide says that game isn’t starting until 10 p.m. Eastern.

Picket is used to getting away from defenders. He'll have to used to LB's and DE's that are faster than he is........

I’m not someone who was a fan of the Pickett pick, but that was a good first performance. We still need to see if he’s able to press the ball down field, but he was incredibly accurate on all the short and intermediate routes. Hitting guys in stride to allow them YAC, hitting them as they came open, etc. I was extremely skeptical, and certainly a 1/2 performance in a preseason game has little meaning, but I was impressed.

Kenny six yards threw mostly 10 yards or under routes. I’ll wait until he can actually push the ball down field against someone decent.

Sure, but that doesn't mean you can't appreciate that he did the things that he did do very well. There's an endless list of NFL QBs who can't lead a RB on a throw out of the backfield, or hit a quick out accurately where only the WR can get it. I can still appreciate that he was perfect on those things, and take it for that for now. As you said, we'll see if he can press downfield, but even the 15 yard out that led to the TD on the last play was a rope, and that's an intermediate route.

Hard to get excited about Preseason Game #1.

All the Steeler QBs showed better than I expected, but considering how many Steeler "starters" had the evening off, I wonder how many Seahawk "starters" were given the same. How did that impact individual player performance?

I was happy with Pickett's performance overall. Quick check downs led to high completion percentage. YAC on the final pass won the game. Looked like no defender in the same zip code.

Pittsburgh sports media gushed with excitement. Can't wait for next week.

Pickett's feet were impressive....his ability to escape the rush and scramble for positive yards are both better than the other 2 qb's. But...I need to see him play vs. the other squads #1 defense. Again, my main concern last nite was the Steeler front 7 vs the run...it was not good all night.

Steelers' skill position players really shined and they were largely not starters. Bodes well for the O-line.

Yep, the OL did a very good job opening holes for the running game, and the pass blocking had a few breakdowns but not terrible considering its the first game together for a few new OL players.

But without lots of starters playing for both teams it's hard to get too excited yet, other than Pickens being the real deal and the WR's should weather the loss of the FA's that left pretty well.

How big are his feet?
