We didn’t storm the field in 2010 when we beat the number one team. Why do it now for a top ten team…and cost the school so much money? That money could go toward NIL! Somehow the school is going to have to figure out a way to refrain fans from doing it. Basketball and football seem to be the main sports where it can happen.

Did you just wake up from an 8-week nap or something?

Same. I only tuned in during the fourth quarter. Man, that team was loaded with future NFL talent.
It sure was! It really brought back memories…hearing all those names! That was an awesome team.

My only guess would be Alabama - South Carolina ins 2010 was a day game and not a night game, maybe our crowd has to have more beverages in them to storm the field?

Funny think about the Clemson game this year, before Sellers scored the final, TD, Clemson students had filled our aisle, to go on to the field, I was on a aisle seat, and after Sellers scored, one of the students looked at me, and told me " we are not going to win? " And I said you may not but there is whole minute left, who knows?, and he said screw it we will still go on the field if you win, I will follow you, LOL

Yeah, Clemson does that weird thing where they run onto the field win or lose. It's hard to imagine how they can continue that tradition these days.

They won't be doing it much longer. - It's not a question of if, but rather "when" - someone is going to get seriously hurt, it will make national news and it will stop.

And, as a side note, everything Clemmons does is weird. (because they are frauds at the core)

People did try to storm the field in 2010. Because of someone’s stupid decision after one of our biggest wins ever, people saw the yellow shirts chasing/tackling our fans instead of a sea of garnet and black as we have seen recently. It was ridiculous. That win was priceless.

It's called Gathering at the Paw, one of many traditions that Clemson has. Something you all know very little about considering you're walking around doing the Hawaiian hang loose sign for "spurs up" that Muschamp started during his losing reign at UofSC. Now that's some weird ish right there.

No 😊…just watched the 2010 game on SEC Rewind. What an exciting game! No effort by the crowd to go on the field.
The difference was that at the time the no-storming the field rule was new and the AD was serious about enforcing it. As someone who was sitting in the student section for that game, security were threatening students if they jumped the railing. The students were ready to go until then.

And evidently they had recently installed the field goal post that could automatically be taken down. I am all for everyone celebrating, but I think it should be in the stands. I just find paying those fines such a waste of money.

While I wouldn’t rush the field today as a full grown adult, I absolutely would have as a student. What a great memory that would have made.

But instead, that opportunity was ruined by people who wouldn’t have rushed the field anyway, not wanting others to do it.

You mean the guy whose screen name looks like a toddler was banging on a keyboard. Yeah, he makes us all feel a little smarter. Him and AOC make me feel like a Magna *** Laude

It will stop the fans decide it will stop. You’re not stopping a mob of 1000s of fans from storming a field. Which is why I think the SEC rule is dumb as hell. Punish the school for something they ultimately do not have control over.

When you have the tear down the goal post mob, it’s not happening.

That happened when Lou finally beat a team, then again the next week when they beat UGA. It was getting expensive.

??????

Put me in charge. It will stop immediately. Use enough tear gas and pepper spray, and it will stop. I promise you that. :giggle:

I get that. Standing there with semi auto rifles would to. That’s just not going to be used nor should it. I for one have zero problems storming the field on a program defining win. That’s just me. Every game is a bit ridiculous, tradition or not.

But you have to take into account the Clemson tradition of trampling on the field after every home game.

Think about it. All those Upstate rednecks sitting in the stands looking at that cow pasture they call a stadium. Longing to be out in the field on the south side of a north-bound mule. It just comes natural for them to meet there.
