Yeah, there was no bad blood until Stoops ran his mouth and I think he was just trying to make a point that they don't get much respect and decided to use us as an example of teams they had handled pretty well lately getting a lot of off the field attention, I can kind of see his point and I don't think any less of him, but if you're going to go that route you better back it up!Beamer played this one smart. Kept his mouth shut about it until things were done with.
It was dumb and pointless shot for Sroops to take in the first place. There was no particular bad blood between our programs and no beef, that we know of, between him and Beamer.
Glad he got his due last night.
Sounds like he doubled down.Stoops was asked his response to Beamer's postgame speech in the locker room. NOW he says he just minds his business and stays in his lane. He wasn't staying in his lane at SEC media days.
“It just makes me go back to being me and being very vanilla,” Stoops said. “… I kinda stay in my lane and keep my head down and do my job. … If I have something to say about Shane Beamer, I’ll say it. I have a lot of respect for him. We have spoken twice. They kicked our butts. If they want to dance around, they should.”
