Scoring is down. That is a fact. But its not because of the shot clocks. It's because teams are running the shot clocks down near zero more often. Pace of play is slow, and getting slower. If we eliminate the shot clocks it's going to be even slower.
No, if you move the shot clock to 40 seconds scoring would go up because once again teams could run an intelligent offense that generates high % shots, of course that takes coaching and intelligent players.

it’s dumbed down bad basketball right now, no it’s because they are modeling the game on the nba. Which is stupid.

I’m gonna need to see some support for the last statement because that can’t possibly be true.
I would have lost a lot money on betting on this, but he's right.

That's happening in all college sports, at least at the blue blood level. Analytics are always formed at the pro level, as the schedules are all similar. NFL is taking advantage of safety rules and athleticism, and tossing it all around the yard rather than running, and now college has begun doing that. MLB obviously bought into analytics, and now colleges are trying to do it (Lemonis). Obviously basketball is too.

Decent approach, if you can get the athletes to make the numbers work, i.e. blue blood most of the time. If not, in college, you're better off trying to be unique (like a running QB or whatever).

“Safety rules” have devolved into flag football rules for the qb. More garbage that dumbs down the game. It’s entertainment value $$$ over protecting the integrity of the sport. it’s also propped up by fantasy football, gambling interests. One of the reasons college football is a better game but that’s rapidly eroding.

NBA vs college basketball is a much better example. college basketball is being dumbed down and ruined by modeling itself after the nba.

Scoring isn’t down in the sec. I guess that’s why I assume it’s up all around. 4 SEC teams averaged over 83 with another 5 at 75 or higher. But I think the real answer is that kids are just so athletic it can get really tough to run an offense or get to the rim. It’s just too physical and it makes it a pretty miserable game to watch

Again I state. Scoring was just a tad higher in the 80s because in the 80s the best basketball players stayed in school for 3-4 years. Now they stay 1.

Any shot clock cant hide that fact. If the college players were better back then, then they’ll score more points.
