Wow. Russia and Iran seem not to be very powerful anymore. That being said the winners appear to be Islamists. The enemy of my enemy is not my friend in this case I'm afraid.

Rumors out there that Assad was on a plane, probably fleeing the country, that crashed in the north of the country. This was a stunningly fast collapse.

Iran’s never been powerful and Russia has a glass jaw. Ukraine has proven that. China is the world’s only real super power besides us.
I forgot the *****. One thing to remember though, glass jaw Russia still has the largest nuclear arsenal in the world.

Fair enough…but, they won’t use them.
I don't think they will either.....hopefully. Putin still thinks he is Peter the Great though. He definitely wants to recreate the Russian Empire. I've been to St. Petersburg. It was back in 2010 but Putin was refurbishing a palace right down the road from the Peterhof for himself even then. He sees himself as restoring Holy Russia. That is dangerous ****.

Just like we weren’t going to continue to fight for the Afghan government neither are Russia and Iran going to fight for Syria when their Army has degraded like this over 5 years. Syrian army did pretty good in tough battles against these same Islamists in the last war, they have completely degraded though, just don’t have any will to fight again.

As far as Russia having a glass jaw this is what they always do in wars, start out horrible and then turn it around and win. They did it in WW2 and they did it in the war with Finland in 1940. People don’t realize Ukraine is the strongest army in Europe by far and it’s not even close, especially after they were flooded with weapons. Also they have US built defense lines that Russia is having to go through, the Eastern part of Ukraine was basically turned into a giant fortress. The problem for Ukraine is that once Russia gets through this then it’s open fields, much harder territory to defend. Ukraine needs to make a deal, the longer they wait the more territory they lose. The only thing that can turn the war now is manpower, they need an infusion of about 300,000 well trained troops and that is the one thing the west won’t give.

Probably so, but as long as Ukraine will fight you have to back them to the hilt. Russia's next move might very well be into the Baltics. We will have to fight there. Ukraine is buying us time at the very least.

Per the west…Ukraine will not lose this war.

Yellow man will stop it. And give Ukraine an ultimatum.

As for Russia, the payout will come to numb. Basically go back to a communist republic. Watch and you will see

It is alarming how quickly this happened. This islamist faction is an off-shoot of al queda that has attempted to soften its behavior to make itself less likely to get its @$$ kicked by the west. The leader, Julani, fashions himself as a “mullah of the people.” Eventually he will turn his attention toward Jerusalem. They always do.

I was reading about this coming a week ago. The legacy news media has been asleep on this one. Everyone should keep an eye on Erdogan and Turkey, they are looking to be a big problem in the future. Members of NATO, yeah, but he is Muslim Brotherhood and gaining power and strength by the day.

Even Zelensky has hinted at a peace deal where they cede territory. At some point they are going to run out of manpower and then they’ll get steamrolled. I’m sure he has a good handle on how many troops he has left and what the tipping point is. He’ll make the deal then.

End Times are here.
Nah. Just pieces being moved into place. The curtain on the play has not been raised as the actors are not in final position just yet. But one can hear the orchestra tuning and the props being shoved around.

pay more attention when the hubris of orange man comes to full fruition as he pushes for “peace” by dividing the holy land and messages making Jerusalem an international protectorate overseen by gentiles.

China is not a military threat to us at all and their economy will collapse without the west.
I don’t completely disagree with that statement. We’re pretty co-dependent on each other at the moment. I do think their military is a threat simply because of the numbers they can throw at anybody. I don’t think China or Russia are the big, bad wolf people make them out to be. When all is said and done, America is still the big, bad wolf of the world.

Chinas cyber espionage and potential cyber warfare are more of threat than their actual military.

The Rebels can have it. I suspect Turkey is going take over a good portion of the country.

If Erdogan is Muslim Brotherhood then that's a big problem.

"There are decades where nothing happens, and there are weeks where decades happen."

Not getting political, just historical: depending on one's definition, World War III may have begun. Not that world powers are at War with each other (although they might be eventually) but the interconnected nature of these conflicts could suck in a lot of different interests.

Russia created its own battle in Ukraine which has stretched out far longer than anyone predicted. Iran is occupied by Israel, which was sparked by the Oct. 7 attacks. Neither can expend resources on Syria any longer.

We will likely see more interests collide as the void created in Syria gets filled.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

The new guy had an interesting incoming message. He elected to deliver it on CNN instead of Al Jazeera, told Iran they were done meddling in Syria. Signaled to the West that he was distancing himself from terrorism trying to gain favor with the US and others. I think that Biden's summarized response was something along the lines of good words, we will wait to see what you do. Crazy times.

Gotta keep a buffer zone. It isn't for anything else, trust em.**
The US’s unwillingness to treat the secular state of Israel like any other nation is nuts. Just because it is named the same as a Biblical reference does not mean that it’s related in any other way. One thing the secular architects of modern day Israel did initially to convince religious Jews to join was with a promise of not subjecting them to conscription rules. They recently revoked that exemption. So think about that, not a single religious Jew has ever been conscripted into the Israeli armed forces. The sooner we stop treating Israel like some Christian good luck charm the better.

Do you think that’s how the US sees Israel at the diplomatic foreign relations level or just the way your average evangelical sees it? I think the latter. At a higher level of thought, I think the US sees them as a super important ally and intelligence source/partner in a super important strategic region…rightly or wrongly.

I’m being cautiously optimistic about this. Knowing very little about the Resistance group, I did a little research on their platform. Key components are religious freedom, protection of minorities, severing control by Russia/Iran, and women’s rights (by Islamist standards). Their leader, at least publicly, seems more open to the West. Let’s see how it plays out.
