I’d like nothing more than for you to be proven right. But with the multiple recent blown double-digit leads in our games with them, and their likely move to #1 coming up, I can’t imagine being as confident as you.
So don’t watch. I enjoy every game, especially the ones we win.
I’d rather watch them beat Nevada than lose to OSU.
Whether they’re moved to 1 or 10 … doesn’t matter in the least to the outcome of the game. Texas is a pretender.
PSU fans are scared. We have oodles and oodles of talent back. Replaced our only meaningful coaching loss with a more than capable replacement. We’re set. PSU fans don’t know what to do in these situations. It’s the Ricky Bobby “I don’t know what to do with my hands” situation. We’re the hunted, not the hunter.
I read where they have a legit 14 to 16 projected NFL draft picks in next year's NFL draft. Kind of hard to call a team that loaded a pretender
That's fine. Watching us play Nevada is like an NFL pre-season game to me. I like watching the new guys and hopefully seeing improvement from the other guys but until Oregon it's just...for fun.

No because preseason NFL games don’t count. These games count the same as the Oregon game.
They don't--we aren't going to lose them and Notre Dame proved last year even if you do no one cares

I agree we’ve got good talent coming back. But that talent wasn’t good enough to win at home last season, so I don’t get this confidence about winning in their place. “I think this is the year we end the drought,” sure, that’s fair. “I’m not at all concerned we’ll beat them?” Sorry, I think that’s delusional.
It’s all about the number of wins. Nobody cared about Notre Dame losing that game last year because they won the rest. If they wouldn’t have, they wouldn’t have made the playoffs.
It's quality of wins that matter. Tell that to the MAC and Sun Belt that the number is all that matters
If you think playing the Nevadas of the year is good for college football. That's great. I like competition. Don't know why so many are afraid of it.
Because the system is set up that way. Get to 10 wins and you’re in if you’re in a strong conference, so why make it unnecessarily difficult?
That's why the system needs to change which is the discussion--that gets us better games. Continue to expand to encourage real games.

How many tough games do you think a team needs in a 12 game schedule? Do we really want 7-5 teams in the hunt because they played and lost to more good teams? That kind of proves they’re not good enough to be in the playoffs.
I want them all to be tough.
I think 7-5 against 12 legit teams is better than 10-2 when you play 4-5 teams with a pulse.

But if you lost 5 games against good teams, isn’t that proof enough you don’t belong in the playoffs? Also, if they’re all going to be tough for teams like OSU, Georgia, PSU, etc then the top 10 teams will have to play each other all year….that would be stupid.
Problem is if you play a team that’s top 15 and you beat them, that could knock them out of the top 15, so then many “fans” don’t consider it a good win. That’s happened many many times to PSU.

My opinion--just mine, the sport would be infinitely better if the SEC/Big Ten only played each other. The Big XII/ACC only played each other. G5 only played each other (and their should be levels there)

You can’t seem to get certain things out of your mind even when you’re wrong…like Franklin’s record against top 5 teams and always calling our record 9-1.
Because we have to get to 10 wins to make the playoffs and going 10-2 is way more enjoyable than going 7-5 regardless of who you’re playing.
The NFL is a league of 32 that all have the ability to be on the same playing field
That's what the SEC/Big Ten combining would do--yes, some of those teams won't be good every year but it's a level playing field
