Thank you for all you did to help our basketball team this year. You played hard, you are a smart basketball player, and our young people could learn a lot from you. You are truly one of my all-time favorite gamecocks in one short season.

God bless you and I hope your future is bright.

The thing I love about Hayden Brown is that he is one of those players who leaves it all on the floor. He hustles and plays defense when you are down by 20 or up by 20. He probably is one of the players who comes closest to maximizing his potential. Every coach's dream!

And...................................he was the author of arguably the greatest pass on a basketball court, EVER, in our home game vs. Arkansas this season! It will forever be his Carolina legacy.

Don't worry Rod,he's a beloved figure in Charleston for the contributions he made to The Citadel both on and off the court.I think he'll be able to overcome your negative feelings toward his "pass."
Also good luck to Hayden as I believe he is planning on entering the ministry.

Negative feelings?! I don't have a bit of negative feelings toward the man. His famous pass will become a thing of legend!

Those last three words cannot be emphasized enough. I have coached some throughout the years and it is simply astonishing to me, how my lens changes when I view from the stands vs. view from the bench ... the little things stand out (like a simple tip of a pass, forcing a bad pass, basically, making your man work) ... I believe this is what Brown brings and as a fan, you appreciate his effort but as a coach, many things he does that mostly never shows up and he is one you want on your team, in your corner, etc. Good comment, John!

Yep…reminiscent of GG’s countless attempts to drive and losing the ball and countless step back three pointer air balls with someone guarding him closely. All great memories from this year.

If he was 6’9” he would be All SEC. Wish we had 8 more just like him.

I'm sure he's a solid kid, great character and all that. For me, however, everything and everyone from this team is forgettable.

One you can tell your grandkids.
If the good Lord allows me to live long enough & blesses me with them one day, you can rest assured that they'll hear the tale of "The Pass" from 2023!

looked around but can't find it. wish there was a way for me to see it, but i'm afraid it wouldn't live up to the hype you've created.

Oh.....it would.

Somewhere out there in the infinite internet, there is a replay of the Carolina-Arkansas game.

Try the ESPN app and look for it in on-demand videos. I watch plenty of baseball games and stuff after they are over and fast forward through the commercials. I’m not sure how long they keep replays available….but there’s a chance.

Someone needs to find it! I'm not that tech savvy.

Deleted Post. No reason for me to make the comments I wanted to make. Thanks Hayden.

What the hell do you do DOD/ROD besides throw barbs at our players and coaches 24/7. Get a life and get off here 24/7. No need to mock and harass continuously.
No. You get off of here!!
Was the pass at the end of the game? The inbound pass from the baseline?
No. Mid-2nd half. Off an Arkansas turnover. Was a 3 on 1 Carolina break & Brown threw a pounce pass (for the ages!) from just shy of half court. It wound up in row 13.

Yes he was a real trooper out there. But don`t forget the pass from Mike Holmes to Zam "Buck" Frederick to beat.... help me out... was it Florida? Pure beauty.

Any other old timers (like me) remember the handles and incredible passes from Jackie Gilloon? I suspect there were a lot of "look out" moments in practice, too.

Life is good - Peace!
