Right after you explain to me how a university for the first time ever, had to deal with a nuclear bomb like the one that hit in Oct.2011. No road map. No other university ever having to deal with something remotely close to what was occurring, allowing them to follow a model, a course. Nothing. A man was raping children. The university was being threatened with the actual disbanding of their football program. Lawsuit threats piling up by the hundreds. Joe Paterno lost his coaching job and reputation. That would have happened at any other school in the country at that time for the crimes that were being committed against children. Believe what you want. The man responsible for all of this will rot in prison. Many people suffered. Not just Joe.
It's called due process. The University and the media allowed for neither. The BOT (including the Governor) was also likely scapegoating so all the blame could be laid at the feet of the football program and the corruptness involved by those in the BOT could stay hidden long enough for everything to be expunged and they could walk away scot-free.

Some of the BoT had family members on TSM board. TSM had a clause in their by laws that if members engaged in unlawful activity they would be personally liable.

Thus, the scramble to shut it down and call in the shredder trucks. The amazing thing LE was present and did nothing to prevent the records destruction.

This was not about Paterno permitting perversion. It was about protecting family and friends.

Someday someone will talk. I just hope those involved are around to take the bashing they deserve.

They tried to tie Joe to Sandusky but it was completely made up. Joe hated Jerry and there aint no way he would have ever overlooked child molestation. The whole thing was BS

Yeah let me know when OSU, MSU, UM to
Name a few follow the PSU playbook for handling these issues. Also when will they be firing coaches?

The lack of preparation was largely Spanier's fault. The Board is responsible for not overseeing that.

Could PSU have been completely prepared for the shitstorm that hit? No. But had they taken measures to deal with what was reasonably foreseeable, they wouldn't have been as completely overwhelmed as they were.

The BoT authored what "happened"! So what are you talking about?

Spanier was smart enough to manage the **** storm that was coming if he would have been allowed. The ahole BOT led by Surma, since Ira folded, screwed the pooch, while accomplishing Surma and Corbutts agenda. Surma wanted Paterno, Corbutt wanted Spanier. In the process they screwed all of us.

Blehar posted a 10 year summary on his blog and Facebook. He confirms just about everything from the complicity of the BOT, Freeh, and Pennsylvania Attorney General's in promulgating falsehoods.

He also addresses the shenanigans of Surma, Corbett, Baldwin and Shapiro. About the only thing he missed was the farce of Mitchell and the waste associated with "monitoring" what Penn State had been doing for decades.

Spanier was aked by the BoT about the Sandusky investigation earlier in 2011 and brushed it off as a non-event as far as PSU was concerned. Had he taken the matter seriously and prepared, he would have diminished the opportunities of Corbett and other board members to influence events in November 2011.

Malfeasance thrives in a void. The best way to prevent it is filling the void.

Counterpoint. Spanier had Cindy LouWho brief the BOT in May 2011. Guess how many questions the BOT asked in that session. Over/Under is 0.5.

Spanier absolutely would ave managed the situation 10000% better than what was done by the gutless cowards who were only out to save their own TSM-aligned butts.

Regardless. No excuse for Spanier not to have a contingency to deal with the possibility that someone closely identified with PSU would be indicted for child molestation.

Some like to portray Spanier as a martyr. He crawled on his own cross so that limits my sympathy for him. My regret is the price that PSU paid for his arrogance.

You seem to overlook the fact that the BOT cut him off almost immediately upon the release of the greatly flawed and one-sided presentment. The BOT asked Spanier to lead over the weekend. Then they panicked becasue they realized that their TSM ties made them personally liable. Add the fact that the Governor had a great vendetta against Spanier. The damage the BOT inflicted upon the University is measured in hundreds of millions of dollars. There is no way Spanier lets it get to that level. Not. Even. Close.

And who do they place in his stead? Hahahahaha. Fraudney Erickson. He was about 67,985th on the list of qualified people to lead PSU through this event. Qualified is probably not even a word that should be associated with Erickson.

It is a bit puzzling that very few direct their vitriol at Jerry even though he is the person that caused this mess. In fact many like to portray him as a victim. He is rarely the target of the hate that gets distributed to other players.

Please explain why the bot allowed Joe, Tim, Gary, Graham, the football program, and the university to be slammed in 2011-2012 and why they haven’t attempted to correct the narrative since.
Protect revenue streams. Joe got Mercked.

Find a culprit (truth doesn't matter), gin up fake report, do a pr beg for foregiveness, dole out Benjamins 'using an impartial' third party and essentially care less about what happened in the name of protecting your other revenue streams -- Merck playbook.

It's impossible to predict what would have happened under different circumstances. Maybe the forces arrayed against Spankie were irresistible. But that's never an excuse for not doing your job. Spanier failed on three levels. While I don't believe he did anything criminal, he deserved to be fired.

Maybe because he was a QB at Brown? Why were you doing a Wiki on Joe? To find some info to troll deeper? You have him in your screen name but don't know he played college ball? SMFH
Yes, of course he was a player at Brown. Everyone knows that dumb ****. The title of the thread was that the media has tried to bury Joe. Just showing that his wiki and two of the Google search associations are Sandusky and McQueary. Is that how Joe should be identified by the media and general public? It's not right at all.
