I mean, we still have 10 more SEC games. I’m sure it will happen at least one or two more times.Tell me when we will see another player this year go 7 for 10 from 3. In any game nationwide. We won't.

Not calling timeout was the right decision. Alabama was scrambled defensively and we had an open layup that Murphy just inexplicably missed. If you call a timeout, Bama gets a chance to set up its defense. We had exactly what we wanted, just blew a layup.I was yelling timeout as we crossed half court. Hoping to setup a play. Not saying the layup was bad but felt that we have the ball make sure we get what we want. That ball should've been dunked. Glad to see Hubbard get back going and have a helluva game. Bama 3 point % is ridiculous for this game.
Good point. Timeout probably does let them setup. The loss hurts, but this is a damn good bulldog team. Was fun to see Hubbard go the 17 off. I still stand with Jans! We played really well, and our star player had a career game. We still lost. Those hurt. Got to move on.Richard Williams says after postgame radio interview that is the saddest/downest he has seen coach Jans after a loss.
Either Murphy or Matthew’s had another missed layup earlier in the 2nd half. Off a steal, he had a single defender on him and he took the pu$$y route to lay it in, got fouled and missed it. Missed the front end. Turned a 3-point oppo into 1 point. We do this a LOT.I was yelling timeout as we crossed half court. Hoping to setup a play. Hubbard’s two best games of his career were both in losses. Kentucky last year and tonight. We played really well, and our star player had a career game. We still lost. Those hurt. Got to move on.
This game was in our grasp. Not slamming it a few times. The missed free throws were even. They shot lights out from 3. I still don't understand how a 6'7"-6'11"guy doesn't just dunk it when in arms reach of the goal. Hopefully Jans continues to build this team. These guys have potential. They have better players at every position, and they do the little things our guys won’t. If not for Hubbard, this game was a blowout.
FIFYWe played well and never gave up, but it was Alabama, and we have somevoodoorefs that takes over when we play them.
You don't call time out when you have a fast break to an easy layup/dunk.I was yelling timeout as we crossed half court. Hoping to setup a play. Both UK and Bama wins required a unusual season high performance from a bench player. I know some fans of doom here will say that's our destiny every game. It isn't.We won games last year against high ranked teams. The games like last night and UK feel different, but it’s not destiny that we lose
Our end of half & game management is pathetic. If I remember correctly Hubbard just dribbled the ball & fell down. We didn’t even get a good shot off.If memory serves me, at the end of the first half, around 50 seconds remaining, we have the ball with opportunity to go two for one. Instead, we let the click run down and don’t score and leave 24 seconds on the clock so Bama get the last shot and gets the and-one. Disappointed in that approach to the end of the half.
Certainly been frustrating to watch several times this year including end of game when we got NO shot off. Easy to say in hindsight but given everybody knew we were trying to get it to Hubbard it was Kugel with the ball. I'd have been OK with him just finding a way to at least get a shot off.Our end of half & game management is pathetic. If I remember correctly Hubbard just dribbled the ball & fell down. It's one of my pet peeves, and it's certainly not just us. But if you just dribble the clock down to 8 seconds and then suddenly try to get a good shot, it's going to be very difficult to get a good shot. I'd much rather just run my offense and if a really good shot comes early, take it. Make it and you put the last second shot pressure on the opponent. And I especially like this in situations like we were in at the end of the 1st half. If you get a good shot early, you create a 2 for 1 opportunity. If you don't, keep running your offense until you do. In that situation, we were always going to give them the ball back with plenty of time to score.Certainly been frustrating to watch several times this year including end of game when we got NO shot off. Kugel is our highest % shooter most nights. Hubbard was that night but yes, if Kugel has an open look with his feet set, hell yes. When kugel had the ball late in the game, he had an open shot (at least by his standards) but turned it down and we didn’t score. Next time down the floor he turned it over. I know everyone wanted to get the ball to the hot hand but when opportunity presented itself, I was surprised Kugel didn’t let er fly.
