72 of the top 80+ teams will play their postseason in a bowl game somewhere. Only #’s 5-12 will play on campus. And for 4 of them that will be the end of their season.
I just think the first round games would make more sense to be played at bowl games, just like the quarterfinals and semifinal games are.
Am going to State College for the game. Will travel down Friday and home on Sunday. If we lose I got to experience the Beav for the umpteenth time.
If the first round game were at the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio for example, we'd probably make a 9 or 10 day family trip with two weekends in San Antonio. If we lose and the season is over at least we had fun family time + football.
I know if we win and move on the quarterfinals will be at bowl sites. But then you're up against short term planning and a lot more $$$ for flights and hotels etc.
For those of us without an unlimited budget, it'd be great to combine a love for Penn State football and a love for family time in nice weather areas into a single trip.
Not sure why this is controversial?
