I'm kind of surprised they didn't do that too. They didn't see him cross the line there, just as they didn't see him cross the line with the ball for a TD earlier.

Calling it a first down would have caused a huge stink between the conferences since the video evidence clearly showed his elbow down short of the line and the ball tucked behind that elbow.

I believe the TD the refs gave them was the tide-turner. It really went downhill from there.

Calls like that are clearly reserved for SEC Refs. If Alabama had SEC Refs yesterday Texas would have been blown out.

Perhaps last night was a “working interview “ for possibly being hired to call SEC games next year. They probably called home after the game and said, I think the interview went very well. They should fit right in next year.
