Let's do both.Has anyone done a deep dive on what it would cost to not fire him?
When you say nationally are you talking like maybe 100K people? Cause more people watch bowling, cornhole and darts than watch college baseball. WBB in 24 drew more viewers than the last two CWS combined. More people watched our bowl game against Tulsa than watched the national title series. Baseball is a regional sport. Sorry but other than maybe a few 100K fans it’s a nothing burgerFor those that keep beating on Baseball at MSU

Baseball is the ONLY sport we are known nationally for as a top program. You let that go away, we are not thought of at all in college athletics.
Correct. Baseball was making money hand over foot for many many years. Until the new stadium is paid off, the program will be underwater.Actually Mississippi State baseball used to be one of the few self sustaining programs in the country, new stadium probably changed that for a while
I liked the old Polk reply when Richard Williams asked him how to fill the HUMP to the brim. Polk replied....."Play a baseball game in here".It made money every now and then. It wasn't self sustaining. Football pays the bills for all of it except men's basketball.
Probably around 3 -4million.Has anyone done a deep dive on what it would cost to not fire him?
Baseball ain't football. We have all the baseball attendance records and the biggest stadium in the country, and it's nowhere near as big as our football stadium, one of the smallest in the SEC. Baseball aint even basketball when it comes to revenue.I liked the old Polk reply when Richard Williams asked him how to fill the HUMP to the brim. Polk replied....."Play a baseball game in here".
And football is why the SEC is able to pay the bills.Probably around 3 -4million.
and being in the SEC is what pays the bills.
Absolutely. But it really doesn’t have much to do with whether we are good or not. And whether we are good or not likely won’t matter in the next media rights round. We will either be in or out. But im form making FB the priority to the extent it matters. But if it matters it’s likely a timing issue. Are we worth having around in 2032And football is why the SEC is able to pay the bills.
It never made money hand over foot. It lost money most years throughout our history. There were a few years it was right around break even.Correct. Baseball was making money hand over foot for many many years. Until the new stadium is paid off, the program will be underwater.
No it didn't. It never has made money and never will.Actually Mississippi State baseball used to be one of the few self sustaining programs in the country, new stadium probably changed that for a while
