Is Eddie Perez still the first base coach/pinch hitter?

Dan Smith was throwing slow and all over the place last night. Nelson looked OK when he came in. Then they put Valdez in and all hell broke loose. We look like the Bad News Bears fielding the ball.

Van Pope did actually dive for a ball one time. I guess he finally figured out that just watching balls go down the base line wasn't going to get him to the bigs.

Been wondering that. Jackson has always been a ****** sports town. Wonder since the newness has worn off the M-Braves if folks are still turning out?

I didn't even know they had started playing. They must be outsourcing their advertising to MSU.

Kind of good to hear how bad they are, though. Nothing beats a few beers, some really bad minor league baseball, and laughing at all the promotions and entertainment they come up with to get fans in the gates.

finishing around the middle of the pack in attendance but they are behind teams in cities that they should be behind. Jackson is not really a crappy sports town, this is just the first time a legitimate facility has been built. The Mets/Generals did fine until people realized Smith Wills was a dump.

But, I believe attendance has been up every year. It didn't look that great for a home opener last night. But, that was just me eyeballing the crowd. And given how my eyes were functioning last night, that is not a very reliable measure. This time of the year is always a little tough until school lets out.

The weather will probably kill attendance tonight, if they even play.

Carolina's home opener. Not sure what kind of weather they had.

There are a couple of teams that draw nothing.

It was apparently open to the mascot as well. One night in about the sixth inning he jumped off a railing, *** first into a trash can.

Loved it when a player went yard and some lady would walk around with a coffee can taking up cash for a homer bonus. A guy could almost double his pay for one game if he went yard. Which meant he took home about $100.

that this was lower than 06's opener but higher than the 2900 for last year's opener. No idea what the weather was like last year. Im ignoring 05's opener for obvious reasons.

I can't remember his name, but I remember reading a M-Braves player getting suspended for HGH.

I thought it was a little slim for an opening night. April does hurt due to school being in session. And they really didn't have any big promotions for opening night, which I thought was strange. They gave away magnet schedules. And they had a local singing group that is trying to "make it big." But, other than that, no fireworks, no celebrity mascot.

The fact that they haven't won a game yet and the #1 prospect is out 50 games due to being on the juice didn't help.

school and little league baseball or college football make. Last year for the playoffs, the crowds were as small as they have ever been dipping below 2,000 for each game.
