If you think the Clifford vs Allar battle amongst our fanbase is something, just wait until the Ewers vs Arch confrontations kickoff in Austin. They always talk about keeping Austin weird, well, this will help that mantra.

He looked awful this weekend. Credit to TCU, but he didn't look good at all. Texas had no answers, but they didn't try tempo or anything to maybe help him out. IMO he's to busy trying to throw and look like Mahomes with the arm angles than he is on just making the simple plays.

He's overrated. He's also the QB for Texas, perpetually overrated, and Sark, who hasn't done anything high level without Saban and Carroll recruiting his players and overseeing the team.
I saw him play in person 2020 TX HS Championship game and he was filthy good. Incredible arm strength and accuracy. He has had a bit of a challenge adjusting to speed of dbacks in callege... but remember, he graduated a year early from HS. Technically he is a true freshman. I would take him in a heartbeat over what I have seen so far from Allar.

Can we at least give Franklin the chance to thoroughly ruin Allar before we discredit him?

Maybe it's the money. Maybe it's youth. He's got better rated WRs than most and Robinson at RB. I just don't see it. Could he have peaked in HS or does Trevor Lawrence shadow ruin expectations?

Personally couldn’t happen to a nicer kid, family ruined him from a team perspective. It’s Quinn and the rest. Enjoy it young man, you earned it.

I am married to a Longhorn and my son-in-law is a longhorn, so i have seen most games. He had Alabama beat until he was hurt. He makes some throws that leave you shaking your head in awe... and then some poor decision making. Their OL is not very good. I would be surprised if he didn't mature into a top3 round guy as long as he doesn't lose his mind, he is a bit of a drama queen I am told

As mentioned above, it’s going to be really interesting next year when Manning shows up in Austin. His family isn’t sending him there to sit on the bench for two years. Ewers was purchased by Texas boosters, I don’t know what was promised Manning. You would know better because you’re closer to the situation. It would be hilarious if Manning’s guys are different boosters. Dueling boosters would be another nightmare for Sark.

It all depends on whether or not Ewers is ready to declare after next season. This is his 2nd year after graduating, so he could declare after 23 season. I think the plan all along was AM sits one year then plays two and moves to NFL

Texas, overrated? An understatement ! Those clowns haven't done anything since the Vince Young days and they're the flagship school of the state with probably the best high school talent.

Is there nothing better than having the two teams with privileged access to in-state talent sucking hind teet and overpaying in the process? 🤷🏼‍♂️

No thanks. I would stick with the horse we came in on.

Man are you going to get crushed for this one.

Many in my family, parents etc graduated from texas. My wife and I will road trip in a couple years around the country. Is it better to watch oklahoma texas in dallas and go to the state fair or watch texas play at austin.

That’s the problem. The coaching/programs at some hs rivals colleges. Many of these kids have reached their ceiling. And no room for improvement.

It probably depends how their team is doing at the time. UT fans aren't like PSU fans. They don't seem as into the sport and their passion only seems to exist during the good times. Maybe I just know a lot of t-shirt fans, most that I know didn't attend school there. When the team is down the home environment isn't really anything special, I think many of the fans in Austin view games as a social event to hang out with friends moreso than a football event. Tailgating sucks due to it being a city campus, it's all spread out in small lots and parking garages. In my experience A&M games are more fun, their fans are more similar to that of PSU and the tailgating scene there is exponentially better than at UT.

I've never been to a Red River Shootout game, it's on the list. That game looks like a lot of fun and the fans seem to get up for it no matter how either team is doing. It's a pretty unique environment with the stadium split 50/50 between the two schools.

If "arm strength" was the only- or even a particularly important- measure of QB play, Dieter Brock would have been a first ballot Hall of Famer instead of somebody many of you have never heard of.

Maybe the pressure of having a huge ego and all that NIL money is getting to him.
