There's Only One Way To Reform and Clean Up the NIL and Portal Mess.

I see that Mario Anderson is leaving. after we took a chance on him bringing him in from a way. way lower division, one year ago. And as I recall, we brought in a Oklahoma TE through the Portal and lost him back to Oklahoma the next season. It's getting ridiculous. I don't believe anyone could disagree with that.

Yeah, don't go to the games? Sure. But that won't be enough. When the schools see that their future TV pipeline of money is threatened, they will move mountains to reform the system so that it's equitable for all. If you don't believe that the TV boys at ESPN, CBS, Fox, etc watch TV ratings like a hawk, then you are not familiar with the TV business. There's a reason why TV shows get cancelled annually (it's not because TV producers forgot to send a Christmas card to the network brass). Believe me, the networks would warn the schools that they better get their act together.

Now the billion dollar question is: do fans have the will power to do that? I can only speak for myself. I do. The current system is so unappealing, EVEN after a respectable, decent season.....as I have said before....it's no longer any fun....to me. But, that's me.

A simple one and done or one and sit out a season would fix a lot of this crap.
Wholesale free agency movement by college athletes, paid or not paid, is going to rapidly destroy the product as we know it. Whoever has the power to fix it, NCAA, schools, Networks, Legislature, etc. needs to fix it or get the Bud Light treatment. So, I'm with you on this.

When the schools see that their future TV pipeline of money is threatened,
The only threat to the TV money is the uncertainty about ESPN going forward, as their parent company Disney has been somewhat ambivalent in their statements regarding their future.
This of course is a concerning development to the SEC/ACC TV contracts. The B1G is in a much more secure situation since they are not tied to one entity.

The SEC had been thoroughly outflanked due to Sankey's chowderheadedness and will be reduced to insignificance within 12 years. The B1G will own college football, will have twice the financial leverage of the SEC, will have staked out an unassailable position in the South, and every major policy decision will go through them. This knowledge has been imparted to me.

Don’t believe that’s going to happen

The ensuing court battle from a no transfer rule would be a big issue. The ncaa doesn’t want to fund it.

I'm with King on this one. It won't happen overnight, but I do believe it will happen in slow, small, and agonizing increments.
I think the decline in slow, small, agonizing increments will be (is happening) to college football itself. Beyond that, it's only natural that the conference that is the most passionate about college football will be disproportionately impacted. The SEC has the most eggs in that basket.

Actually, I hope I am mistaken and you are correct. But it's possible that the SEC has put all of its television eggs in one basket, and the basket is showing signs of unraveling.

The BIG will have to get into the South. Last thing I read was that the South is growing in population compared to other regions of the country. Maybe they will have to wait for ACC to dissolve first.. I suspect that's on their radar. Sounds like a freakin mess. There are times I wish I was a lot younger. Other times, I'm glad I'm not. This is one of those later times.

The B1G will be part of the dissolution of the ACC as we know it.

Don’t recruit from high school. Just get proven transfers. Let some other school train them.

The initial move has happened right before our eyes, but some are not cognizant of the event.

Referring to their move east a few years ago(MD/PS and Rut). The ACC is still around. Even the PAC is, but a shell of itself. The ACC is still a functioning, credible conference. Maybe not for long. But, currently is.

Of course, rumor has it that FSU may leave the ACC in the next month for the BIG.

Big 10 needs to win a title or two before they start taking about ruling college football.

Money rules; they are better positioned. They could also gain incursion into SEC territory - and they'll not only gain market share but they will recruit the hound out of the South - more so than they do already.

Rumor hasit that FSU will decide at a January 31 meeting whether to switch conferences (going to the BIG 10).

My guess is that FSU is working like a beaver to raise the exit fee money to pay off the ACC so they can leave. Just a guess.

Evidently, the SEC has no interest in FSU (nor Clemson). Can Clemson raise the money to exit?

I suppose the disadvantage for FSU (and Clemson) is that they would be isolated away from other members of the BIG geographically. I believe the move would be more palatable for them if schools from NC and VA joined them.

Another guess is that the SEC has interest in getting into the states of North Carolina and Virginia, staying primarily a southern conference.
