Things did well/Things we gotta work on from last night

We used the run game pretty well and the Oline looked pretty good with Memphis sending more rushers than most will against us this year.

Need to work on communication/assignments in the secondary. Too many blown coverages with 2 defenders in the same area.

Will Rogers was really really good.

Our kickoffs left a lot to be desired.

Good-Will’s decision making was very crisp and precise. He made good reads all night, and he played like a QB that can lead this team to 8+ wins.

Bad - QB pressure. Overall, the defense was solid last night, but 1 sack plus a single QB hurry against Memphis was pretty disappointing. Maybe Arnett called a vanilla game last night or maybe he was more focused on drop coverage, but going forward, weÂ’ve just got to do more to pressure the QB

Good: Explosive passing plays down the field. We had several 30+ yard passes down the field last night, when last season it seems our offense was mostly just dink and dunk. Looks like Will is more comfortable throwing the ball down the field this season.

Bad: Busts in the secondary in the second half. So many guys running wide open. Fortunately Memphis receivers had several drops, including a couple that would’ve been touchdowns. Better teams won’t drop those passes.

Weather predictions were good… covert photography was lacking.

1. Everything in the 1st half.

Rain delay was long enough for me to drive back home and still catch some of the first half****

We did well getting so many involved so well on offense

We need to work on getting so many involved that are not ready to play on defense. It was easy to tell when we had the second team in on D Which is why Leech kept Will throwing. We tried to sub to let the game finish but the Memphis coach kept playing his first team Offense so we did the same.
