26.5 left. Plenty of time for Houston to score 7 points, amirite Duke?

Can someone please tell me why he couldn’t touch the ball at the end? What was that?!

I genuinely feel bad for Houston. They led most of the game and then couldn't get a shot off at the end. Fall short again.

Would’ve been a travel. He caught the ball, left his feet to shoot and then put the ball on the floor. Since he had given up his pivot foot, if he had touched the ball again, it would’ve been traveling.
Have they changed this rule recently? Players used to jump, then dribble. Maybe that was just NBA games.

Players will catch the ball and do a shot fake, but when you shot fake, you keep one foot on the floor. Then you can dribble. If you jump and both feet leave the floor, you no longer have the option to dribble. That’s been a rule as long as I remember. Although they don’t call traveling in the NBA anymore, so maybe those guys get away with it.

Houston is the ultimate win ugly team. They are physical as heck and defend like crazy. Great team, just not ever gonna look like the showtime Lakers.

Florida had more shot making ability and also played great defense tonight too, and that put them over the top.

I did not see this coming at all with the Golden hire. I thought he was a very meh hire for them at the time. Did not see him getting them back to Billy Donovan levels. But he did it dang quick.

First national championship for the SEC since 2012.

I saw it coming with the Golden hire. He was my #1 choice to replace Howland. My 2nd choice was Jans. And my third choice was McMahon. As soon as I commented I wanted Golden at MSU......our beloved AD, Mr. Strickland ran and got him as quick as he could. Was the first hire of 5 new coaches in the SEC. I guess Strick finally got something right.

Yeah but reading the Title IX complaint against him is a reflection of what an absolute creep he is....I see why the parents of the multiple students that brought the complaint were so upset that it was whitewashed.....the charges were dismissed because the events didn't rise to the level of a criminal offense that could be proven. They olny had digital evidence of his social media interactions with the victims including pictures sent and the cell phone data showing that he would be in the area of the victims on multiple occasions....but hey nothing to see here

The championship game was the letdown from the rest of the tournament. I want to leave the blame at the feet of the referees, but I'm afraid I'll be anointed a tin hat. You have to admit, they called these three games differently than the rest of the tournament.

Say what?

here is a pretty cleaned up version of what happened.... but the actual filings were pretty detailed and provided digital evidence ....apparently several of the girls came from families of means and they hired their own private investigators and from what I understand they provided the evidence and it was swept under the rug....i figure it will be brought up in civil proceedings unless they get bought off...

I was pulling for them. I feel like they’re kind of a basketball version of our baseball team before 2021. Been a legit contender a lot of times but no natty
