Desperation. I'm not sure the ACC will be a conference in 5 years. Or it won't be recognizable.
This premise is beyond ludicrous. ACC to partner with 4 teams ?
It's a sad time, in the span of less than 1 week we have seen a conference that has been around since 1915 just vanish.
The likelihood of another conference existing in name only for another 2-4 years is almost a certainty.

I'm not sure the ACC will disappear but they will certainly transform into something different. Maybe one that can prosper without trying to compete as a football power. Basketball, baseball, tennis etc and academics will need to be their sweet spots. That becomes problematic for Clemson and Fl St. though. With the Grant of Rights contract, they don't control the broadcast rights to their games through 2036. I'm sure there are lawyers scrutinizing every word of the contract looking for loopholes. Any lawyers out there who have an understanding of what they are up against?
The "Alliance" didn't work and I can't see anything like this woking, either. I mean Wake Forest/Washington State? Come on, now.
Two loser conferences trying to throw each other life lines. Too late. Makes you wonder how the ACC GOR was sold to the ACC. Seems really stupid now. ACC had to put its members in jail to keep them from fleeing as Maryland had enough sense to do. B10 was wooing Va at the same time as Maryland but they said no then Va signed that GOR,
It was the Maryland defection that led to this restrictive and punitive exit fee/GOR setup. Now everyone's in jail and their better programs are wanting to go Shawshank on the ACC.
