yet their program is superior, they are better than Bianco, they expect the CWS once in 4 four years, etc. etc. etc.

No joke, I actually saw a post where one OM fan said that they should expect to be in Omaha every three years. LMAO

is that Mississippi should have a top 5 program. Not top 5 in the SEC. Top 5 in the nation. They're just a little bit delusional.

Obviously that was to cover Bianco's tenure, to show how other teams had done as much or more than us. Again, these are hosting numbers, not appearances, which gives you a better gauge of regular season success. I've updated it to include this year.

Regional hosts:
Florida State - 9
Rice - 9
Texas - 9
Cal-St. Fullerton - 9
Georgia Tech - 8
Arizona State - 8
LSU - 7
Nebraska - 6
Miami - 6
Clemson - 6
South Carolina - 6
Ole Miss - 5
Stanford - 5
Virginia - 5
Florida - 5
North Carolina - 5
Georgia - 4
Long Beach St. - 4
Oklahoma - 4
Arkansas - 4
Texas A&M - 4
Notre Dame - 3
North Carolina State - 3
Coastal Carolina - 3
TCU - 3
Oregon St. - 3
Wichita State - 2
Alabama - 2
Tulane - 2
Tennessee - 2
USC - 2
Auburn - 2
East Carolina - 2
Louisville - 2
UCLA - 2
Vanderbilt - 2
Wake Forest
Ohio State
Southern Miss
Mississippi St.
Baylor
Pepperdine
Kentucky
Missouri
San Diego
Michigan
Oklahoma St.
UC-Irvine
Connecticut

Supers:
Cal St.-Fullerton - 8
Florida State - 5
Rice - 5
Arizona St. - 5
Georgia Tech - 4
Texas - 4
Miami - 4
LSU - 4
North Carolina - 4
Florida - 4
Clemson - 3
South Carolina - 3
Nebraska - 3
Stanford - 3
Georgia - 3
Ole Miss- 3
Oregon St. - 3
USC - 2
Tulane - 2
Virginia - 2
Ohio State
Arkansas
East Carolina
Long Beach St.
Baylor
Alabama
Louisville
Mississippi St.
Wichita St.
UCLA
Coastal Carolina
Vanderbilt

Obviously, there are still some sites to be determined for Supers. If Texas beats Kent State, they will host a Super again. If not, Arizona State will host Kent State. South Carolina is likely to host a Super again this year if they close out Stetson today. Florida State is in the same boat with a suspended game and a lead over Alabama, likely to host again. The TCU-Rice regional match up is anyone's guess, though it'll likely be Baylor or Cal that hosts the Super.

The reason I put this together was to show some of our Bianco supporters how our regular season success isn't nearly as good as they think it has been.

Off that subject, it's still unreal to me that Fullerton, Rice, Texas, and FSU have hosted 9 regionals in the last 11 years. That's impressive. Fullerton's 8 Super hosts might be even more impressive. They obviously won't be hosting a Super this year, since they got bounced.

Bianco made your baseball program relevant. You proved that you guys are in the top 15 in the country in hosting regionals and supers, right behind or even with the normal baseball powers. I'm not sure I really see your complaint. Obviously, it's disappointing you never made it to Omaha but I would think those number of hosts would actually show your were pretty successful in the past decade. Only two or three SEC teams did better. I don't know what you're hoping for.<div id="isChromeWebToolbarDiv" style="display:none"></div>

The complaint would be that in 9 postseason appearances, he's never advanced past a round where he wasn't the highest seed, and multiple times he's lost as the higher seed.

He's been good at bringing in talent, but he's not so good at baseball strategy or development of players.

Bianco will never make it to Omaha while at Ole Miss, so I see no reason why we should keep him. 11 years is enough of a sample size. When you throw in the fact that he hosted regionals from 2004-2007, and subsequently has only hosted once in the last 4 years (missing regionals one of those years and being 1 extra inning win on the last day of the season from missing regionals in another of those years), the trend is the wrong direction.

I will stand by my word that Bianco will never get us to Omaha, and I also know that we are capable of hiring a coach that can and will take us there. I don't think it's hard to make that argument, at least the second part of it. You may disagree on the first part.

you could very nearly insert Rick Stansbury into every sentence of that paragraph. Interesting...

Yes.... You do think UM should be in Omaha every 3 to 5 years. It's hilarious that any UM fan would have given Bianco a handjob right in the dougout in the middle of the last decade. Oh but as soon as poor ole has been MSU reclaims the top spot in the state.... It's time to get Bobby Cox on the phone.

It's the exact same with Nutt. UM fans were laughing at Ark fans that applauded him being forced out. That is until they just made a BCS bowl which it took a cheating Ohio State to beat them. Reservations were still kept for Nutt until Mullen has taken MSU back to being respectable. Ohhh now it's time for Nutt to go.

What the truly funny thing is... It's Bear fans that keep saying "MSU fans are happy enough to just beat us!".

Has absolutely nothing to do with MSU or anything you've done. It has everything to do with missing a regional this year, almost missing a regional 3 years ago, and only hosting once in the last 4 years.

When Bianco lost the original members of his staff, he steadily replaced them with weaker and weaker hires. I've had concerns about that all along and I voiced those. Those concerns have come to fruition in recent years. His flaws as a coach have also become that much more glaring.

I've been off the Bianco wagon, moving further and further away from the guy for the last 4 years. I thought 2009 might be showing that he wasn't dead yet, but I watched him get absolutely schooled by Brian O'Connor in a Super and that was it for me. I've advocated keeping him around long enough to build up the reasons to bury him, simply because you don't want to make an Orgeron situation where you jump too soon and coaches are hesitant to take your job because of the short leash. Outside of that, we're just spinning our wheels with the guy.

We do have some fans that think like you describe, which is why I say that when we have dead weight in the coaching department it doesn't hurt for your program to do well to get those fans riled up and off the bandwagon too.

If I were AD, I would've already had a call in to Brian O'Connor by now, and if he was interested, I would have the offer on the table the minute his season ends, which will likely be in Omaha sometime.

******** it has nothing to do with MSU. I read the first sentence and then you wasted your time on the rest.

I really look forward to your reasons this fall after the third straight beating by MSU that Nutt needs to go due to the fact that he is falling behind the Alabama's and the LSU's of the world.

Some others may have waited until this year, but SourReb was one of the only posters I can think of that beat me to jumping off the Bianco wagon.

I didn't say a damn thing about Nutt. I'm ready for Nix to be gone, but not Nutt, yet. I definitely think Nutt should get at least this year and next. 2012 theoretically should be the year when he has the numbers back in his favor. If he doesn't, that's his fault, and at that point I'd be ready to see him go.

I have my doubts about whether he'll get it done, but I still think he should get 2012 barring something like a 2-10 this fall.

Yeah Ole Miss baseball has been on somewhat of a downward trend here the past couple years but you were still competitive and only a game or so from reaching a regional this year. Bianco has built your baseball program and now on cue Rebel fans create unsurmountable expectations. And yeah it does have some to do with State. Our success only makes your struggles that much more clear. <div id="isChromeWebToolbarDiv" style="display:none"></div>
