Thoughts on the dunk last night?

Best part was it was against Clemson!

I played high school and college basketball. Went to a 99% white high school. I was the first player at my high school to ever throw one down (back in 1985). Similar crowd reaction. I'm telling you, if you never dunked it's a great feeling. Especially the first time.

I remember the summer that me and my friends on our street discovered we could dunk. None of us could just go up and dunk. I had to be running full out. We jammed a bunch of fingers and wrists hitting the rim a lot that summer. None of us played even HS ball. Figured after that that only jockeys and little old women couldn't dunk.

How tall?

I am like 5-10 on a good day and could almost dunk. Helps to have big hands.

We have had MBB players who never dunked.

I know you aren't asking me this question but I am 6'3". I have the small hand syndrome. I always dunked two handed for this reason. Could never palm a basketball. You have to jump a bit higher to dunk two handed. That's why these women dunk with 1 hand.

There have been 9 dunks in women's ncaa history. Two of these ladies will be on the court when we play Stanford.

That was definitely the summer we sprung up. When I graduated I was 6'0" and weighed 196 and looked skinny. I'm 6'1" now with a vertical leap of maybe 3". Weight topped out at 271. Because of diabetes I'm skinny again.

My hands weren't "small" but weren't huge either. I could palm a soccer ball and could one hand dunk those but I also needed two hands for a BB. Sometimes I could go up with it kinda crooked between my wrist and arm but would have to let it go on the way up and try to grab it again to dunk.

I could dunk a tennis ball in my younger days. Dunked a few basketballs jumping off the tailgate of my pickup in my dumber days.

It was a spectacular jam last night, and she was so smooth! Looking forward to seeing much more of this young lady. From all appearances so far, this will be Staley's best team at USC. A scary fact considering her two national championships and 32-1 team in the COVID-interrupted season.

I remember the summer that my friends and I discovered that another friend's goal could be adjusted down to 8 feet, thus allowing us to dunk like Dominique and Jordan. From that moment, it was on like Donkey Kong. We played at that kid's house every time. It was impressive - I bet we were getting 6, maybe even 7 inches of air under our Reebok pumps. Had we had access to today's video technology, we would have filmed some sweet slo-mo clips.

Haha, I know what you mean. My kids and their friends did the same thing.
