Game one of the Justin Parker Era at Mississippi State was a rousing success, but now the road actually begins for State’s interim coach. Can he lift the Diamond Dawgs into a late season run, and then into postseason play? Brian Hadad and Robbie Faulk discuss Parker’s attitude, his adjustments, and what he’s bringing to the dugout for the final three weeks of the campaign.

There is a volunteer assistant somewhere in New Hampshire or Wyoming that has been waiting his turn patiently.***

Unfortunately, you are who you are at this point. I think a weight has been lifted, which is a good thing, but to expect a 180 degree turnaround just because you made Parker the interim is completely absurd.

I agree that it's unlikely for a major change, but it is better than our problems are largely defensively. That is easier to fix. And I do think Parker was handcuffed by Lemonis in pitching decisions no matter what is said publicly.

The real question is can he get us to post season play AFTER the SEC Tourney? Since everyone is guaranteed to make the SEC Tourney the question is can he guide the team through the SEC tournament and impress enough people to squeak into a Regional on the road. The great 8 ball says Nooooooooooo. These guys aren't thinking about post season anyway, they are ready to hit the road for summer leagues and plan their portal departures, which the portal departure is a good thing for most of them.

It is not the hardest schedule in the world to close the year. Not at all. I think it’s possible. Not likely, but possible.

No, I don't think he will. It's a tight rope this team has to walk across the next 3 weekends, and I don't think they can do it. Hell, I expect Mizzou to go 1-29 in conference with that 1 win being against State.
