We have some variation of this conversation every year:

Me (sitting down to watch a basketball game): Nice, which games are on right now?

Wife: What are you doing?

Me: Watching some March Madness

Wife: Why?

Me: It's fun. I like the intensity and having games on all day.

Wife: But you don't even like college basketball.

Me: Yes, I do.

Wife: You never watch it.

Me: I did before we were married and had kids.

Wife: You haven't watched any since last March Madness.

Me: Because South Carolina stinks, and I don't have time to watch random games. I'd watch our games if we were any good.

Wife: I still don't think you like it.

Me: Ooooook.

I tell my wife a week ahead when I'm going to watch Carolina (any sport) and remind her every day. I tell her not to bother me during that time but before and after I'm hers. it's worked for 40 years. Mostly.

This year, kick it up a notch..... Go all Eddie Murphy on her....

Wife: "Why?"
You : "Because it's *MY HOUSE!*, and if you don't like it you can get the F out!" "You can take the dog and scoop up the S****, get the kids, get in the gooney googoo mobile and get the F out!"

Good chance it just might be the last time you ever have to have that conversation with her. Or any conversation for that matter. You're welcome.

My wife doesn't give a crap what I watch. She knows it's either news or sports. Or Air Disasters on the Smithsonian channel. She has her own TV. And I don't give a crap what she watches. (Usually ID. The ID logo is burned into her screen.)

ha, I've tried watching "Air Disasters" a couple times when we can't find anything else to watch. My wife doesn't like that one.

I would go full Chris Beard if my wife ever questioned me about watching the NCAA's.

There's like 20 seasons of it out there. My favorite recent episode is S18 Ep 13 called "Blown Out". Amazing.

Me: I want to fish every Saturday in April because that's prespawn/spawn and the time when big fish must come shallow enough to be seen.
Wife: OK, but we have something every Saturday in April (again this year).
My wife doesn't even plan anything for me in the spring. I'm fishing or planning a tournament or working with sponsors or working on my boat.
We both fill out a bracket. Hers is done by favorite color and mine is done by how good the teams were in the 80's.

My wife and I also follow the Virginia Cavaliers. Last week, we enjoyed 14 games in 5 days at the ACC tournament. She has always been a baseball fan, but did not take an interest in basketball until she saw Tony Bennett. Most women, including my wife, find him handsome. Now, she never misses a Virginia home game and watches ACC, SEC, and any other college basketball game on TV.

She studied American history in college so I should not be surprised by her interest in The Tournament: A History of ACC Basketball and Southern Hoops: A History of SEC Basketball.

In addition to basketball, she has taken a serious interest in Gamecock football and the SEC. She really enjoyed Saturdays in the South: A History of SEC Football and watched every televised Gamecock football game this past season.

Today, we are going to see the #1 Virginia Cavaliers play #3 Maryland in lacrosse. We live in the Charlottesville area so it is a lot easier to watch the Cavaliers in person. Still, we are looking forward to attending the LSU baseball series in Columbia. It will be my wife's first time attending a South Carolina baseball game.

Sometimes I need a break from my wife's sports habit! Really, we are watching Airforce and BYU? I am very fortunate. In addition to sharing my interest in sports, she also embraces my love for BBQ and BBQ competitions.

Very, very cool to hear of what you two do. BTW, my wife is a Staunton girl. She used to work at the UVA medical school in IT.

I watch what I want to watch. If the wife doesnโ€™t like it there is a sports bar near by. When I decide I want to go there, the wife wants to go too. When we get there, she thinks itโ€™s great. I remain confused. There are four or five guys who she knows by their first name. Maybe thatโ€™s why she never has a bar bill.

Mine simply says โ€œyouโ€™ve been watching games all dayโ€ even though I watched one (usually our womenโ€™s or menโ€™s games). She does it all seasonsโ€ฆnot just March

My wife is very tolerant during college football season.
My wife loves college baseball, football, softball and basketball. We have 3 tvs in our entertainment center with 3 games on during sports seasons!๐Ÿ€โšพ๏ธ๐ŸฅŽ๐Ÿˆ

Wives watching ID is dangerous, especially if the husband has a lot of life insurance. Remember, it's always about the life insurance!

I rate spring fishing and fall/winter deer hunting way above March Madness, and for many, throw in there spring turkey hunting. Take her fishing, get her interested in it. Ik, easier said than done in most cases. I'd have to see the the specifics of the wife's list of upcoming events but surely there is that word that most women understand, the one that makes marriages work "Compromise" :ROFLMAO:

April is my absolute favorite time of the entire year to fish. As stated before all the big fish come shallow. The crappie spawn pretty close to the same time. And most of the outdoorsmen are hunting turkeys. Win-Win!

Ha, in my house, one would be on Little Baby Bum, another on Cocomelon and another on Curious George.

Hopefully you will get to fish and are successful, but there are other options, as sung by Brad Paisley/s country song "I'm Gonna Miss Her"
""But I love to fish
I spend all day out on this lake
And hell is all I catch
Today she met me at the door
Said I would have to choose
If I hit that fishing hole today
She'd be packing all her things
And she'd be gone by noon
CHORUS
Well, I'm gonna miss her
When I get home
But right now I'm on this lakeshore
And I'm sitting in the sun
I'm sure it'll hit me

It's not just her. My daughter, church, life in general. Killer song though. I remember once after telling my daughter to go clean her room she told me when she was grown she would do whatever she wanted to do. I chuckled and said "No dear, that's when you won't do whatever you want.

Haha, yes, she will find that out soon enough
