I think this guy is a sleeper, a great player that doesn't get much attention, despite having been arrested for pot in July. I didn't know that pot didn't keep him from having surgery by a national specialist in Philadelphia.

I thought all our guys were seen by local witch doctors. Musta been the pot that kept them away.

I put Marcus Green second behind Anthony Dixon in most likely to have a breakout year, despite being arrested for pot in July. Although Chris Relf could quickly be added to this list - assuming he can get arrested for pot. I'm depending on Veazy to keep us in the loop there.

I think that Green can be a guy that wins ballgames for us this year. He looks like a beast on the field. I gotta like him matched up against some LB in the open field.

But if you have any problem with the story he wrote on Green, I have to strongly disagree with you. How can you write a story profiling him and not mention the arrest and the new news that he's going through counseling and the charges will be dropped?

He writes like a requirement for reporting on each player is to always mention any past troubles. I would like to know how many articles since Dixon's arrest which included 1) Dixon's name, and 2) no mention of the arrest.

KV's article last Saturday leading up to the JSU game all but headlines Dixon's arrest (very stale news at the time). For all that the JSU game meant - game 1 year 1 for a rookie coach, historic matchup, spread offense coming to lowly MSU, etc...his 3rd sentence had to be about Dixon being arrested. The 3rd sentence in the lead story for opening day. Just damn.

Seriously...he can't do a story about anybody that has been in trouble before without also bringing that up no matter how old or irrelevant that part of the news is.

that has had trouble too.

Every Tig article had something about his DUI.

Every Powe one chronicles his history with the NCAA.

Here's a hint: Don't get upset about it. Not every State fan follows it the way people on messageboards do. Hell, I had fans telling me Ole Miss was playing Texas this year...and thats not until 2011.

Nobody knew whether arguably our best player was going to play or not play in the JSU game. Like it or not, that's news and pretty big news at that. If Veazey didn't report the latest update, he'd have been negligent in his job. </p>

That **** happens everyday in the press, and that should mean something on this board? That's crazy, look at Veazey, hell I bet he would faint or have a heart attack if he saw a joint. He enjoys bringing up stale news about players, and the thing is he knows that it gets people pissing all over themselves about it. Negligence my ***, the same went with Hampton, he loved jacking with MSU about Sherrill, but would it have been negligent for him to write a decent piece on the man's accomplishments instead of constantly harping on the negative. Case in point, when Goldie got caught pimping around in an alumnus's caddy (I think), and once it was reported, we never heard another word from the CL, that's (17ing) negligence, incompetence, and unethical (willing to turn a blind eye when something illegal occurs). Sorry for the rant, but any employee of that **** rag cannot be trusted by MSU.
