Tom McAndrew again moderating with political bias
Tom,
You claimed to not use political bias in moderating the board. Yet, the thread on mass shooting in Buffalo has been hyper-political since yesterday. You simply are dishonest. You promptly ended discussions on threads that put liberals in negative light and deleted what you deemed as political posts, but on this horrendous loss of life that the left wishes to maximize for political reasons, you permit some of the most political and disgusting posts to run rampant for days. You sir are not honest.
LMAO.
In general, I bend over backwards to try to work with posters, to try and accommodate their oddities, their beliefs, their whatever, even if they create occassional disturbances on the board, and cause more work for the moderators and myself. I try to focus on the positive aspects of posters, and the fact that they share with the rest of the board community some degree of affinity for PSU.
Alas, there are times when posters become more of a nuisance than they are worth. Sometimes they leave on their own if their inappropriate posts get deleted too often. Other times, they disappear because they get banned.
In all the years that I have been moderating boards, both before I did so on BWI, and since 2001 when I moved my board to BWI, it has never been acceptable to attack a moderator. I can't recall a single instance where that has worked to the advantage of the poster that took that approach.
This weekend, I have barely been on the board -- probably about 15 minutes. I went out of town very early on Saturday morning, and had something to attend to. I returned home late Saturday afternoon, as my wife was hosting a mini-reunion of high school friends. There were several tasks she wanted me to do before the guests arrived, and I barely completed them (I was just getting out of the shower) when the first guest arrived. Then I played host. After everyone had left, and I finished cleaning up from the event, I sat down to look at the board. If I recall correctly, I looked at the board and didn't see any threads that gave evidence of needing some attention. I saw a post about a shooting in Buffalo, and I read the link in it as I have a relative that lives in the Buffalo area. I then posted links to a few things in the May ... thread, the WVB thread, the Weekend Jukebox thread, and perhaps a couple of others (I don't have a great memory of all that I did, as it really was only on for a brief time). I also think I woke up briefly during the night and checked how the Phillies had done, and then made a post or two about their win on the Phillies thread on this board. This morning, I again got up very early, and went back out of town to return to what I was doing on Saturday. If I recall correctly, I checked at a traffic light if I had any responses to things I posted, and then when I had a 5-minute break in what I was doing, I made a post on the Wrestling board, and didn't look at any other threads on this board or any other BWI boards.
I returned from out of town a few minutes ago, and decided to see if there was anything on the board that needed to be addressed before I took a shower and tried to relax from my long weekend. And what do I stumble upon, but your post with quite a few inaccurate statements, and a general attack on me.
For the record, other than looking at the Buffalo thread for about 2 minutes on Saturday evening, when I only looked at the OP and read the linked article, I have no idea what has or has not been posted in the thread this weekend. Based on your post, it appears that I'll have to check it before I get to my shower, but after I finish with this response.
As for you, if you think in any way that attacking me inaccurately, and publicly, adds to, or improves, the quality of this board, you are so far off the mark that it's not worth my time to spell it all out for you. Quite simply, you have worn out your welcome on this board and on this site. I do hope you enjoyed your last post, even if it proved how little you know.
