A walking encyclopedia of Gamecock knowledge and lore was taken suddenly on Tuesday. No cause of death given but it was unexpected.

Tommy played on the Gamecock baseball team in the 1970s. He was the color commentator on Gamecock baseball broadcasts beginning in 2000, but his knowledge of Gamecock sports extended well beyond the diamond. Only last week, he helped Emcee the South Carolina Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

Over several decades, he participated in a plethora of radio broadcasts, particularly on 107.5. This is a terrible loss to the Gamecock community. Prayers for his family, friends, and colleagues.

He was the last surviving member of the original 107.5 morning show. RIP Tommy

He was THE Gamecock historian, taking over the reins from Tom Price and Bob Fulton. A lot of sports talk personalities could learn something from his show prep. I caught a little of one of his 6 o'clock shows and he was running down the top 50 running backs in Gamecock history and his descriptions as usual were spot-on and concise. I would never have known some of these names without Tommy's research. Thanks for being a great Gamecock Tommy, you were appreciated and will be missed!

I heard Brent Johnson say that this morning (on 93.1). Heck, I had forgotten that Benji Norton had passed away.....

I used the term encyclopedia of gamecock history on another thread about his passing. I’ll miss him

Tom Price, Mike Morgan and Tommy Moody. I have special memories of the baseball games on radio from over the years. All had their place when calling games.

Tom Price doctored on my pitching arm when I was 12 years old. Long time ago. I liked him immediately
